The set starts with just under 165,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending May 23, according to Nielsen Music &#8212; the second-biggest week of 2019 for a hip-hop album. Of that sum, 74,000 were in album sales.&nbsp;<em>Igor<\/em>&nbsp;is Tyler, the Creator\u2019s fifth studio effort and was released via Columbia Records on May 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on\u00a0multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> In a fun chart footnote, Tyler, the Creator had previously debuted and peaked at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 with each of his four earlier studio albums. And now finally, he lands his first No. 1. His first solo project,\u00a0<em>Goblin<\/em>, topped out at No. 5 in 2011. He then followed with\u00a0<em>Wolf<\/em>\u00a0(No. 3 in 2013),\u00a0<em>Cherry Bomb<\/em>\u00a0(No. 4 in 2015) and\u00a0<em>Flower Boy<\/em>(No. 2 in 2017). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Igor<\/em>&nbsp;logs the second-largest week in total units for a hip-hop album in 2019 \u2013 trailing only the arrival of Juice WRLD&#8217;s&nbsp;<em>Death Race for Love<\/em>, which opened at No. 1 on the March 23-dated chart with a little more than 165,000 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of&nbsp;<em>Igor<\/em>\u2019s total starting unit sum, 74,000 were in album sales, 1,000 in TEA units and 90,000 in SEA units. The lattermost figure translates to 122.9 million on-demand audio streams for the album\u2019s songs in its debut week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Igor<\/em>\u00a0is the third No. 1 album for Columbia Records in 2019, following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/vampire-weekend\">Vampire Weekend<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Father of the Bride<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/hozier\">Hozier<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Wasteland Baby!<\/em>\u00a0A year ago at this point, the label had notched one No. 1:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/jack-white\">Jack White<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Boarding House Reach<\/em>. (<em>Boarding<\/em>\u00a0was the lone chart-topper for Columbia in 2018.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/dj-khaled\">DJ&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/dj-khaled\">Khaled<\/a>\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Father of Asahd<\/em>&nbsp;debuts at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 chart, scoring the artist his eighth top 10 effort. The star-filled set launches with 137,000 equivalent album units, of which 35,000 were in album sales, 7,000 in TEA units and 95,000 in SEA units. The latter sum equates to 123.2 million on-demand audio streams for the album\u2019s tunes in its first week \u2013 which also makes the set the most-streamed album of the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/billie-eilish\">Billie&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/billie-eilish\">Eilish<\/a>\u2019s former No. 1&nbsp;<em>When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?<\/em>&nbsp;slips from No. 2 to No. 3 in its eighth week, earning 63,000 equivalent album units (down 8%). Another former No. 1, Khalid\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Free Spirit<\/em>, slides 3-4 in its seventh week, tallying a little more than 40,000 units (down 11%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/the-national\">The National<\/a>\u00a0achieves its fourth top 10 album, as\u00a0<em>I Am Easy to Find<\/em>\u00a0arrives at No. 5 with 40,000 equivalent album units. (All four of the rock band\u2019s top 10 albums have also debuted in the top five.) The new set\u2019s first week was led by album sales (33,000), with a significant chunk of that figure derived from a concert ticket\/album sale redemption offer for the act\u2019s tour that started in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/ariana-grande\">Ariana Grande<\/a>\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Thank U, Next<\/em>, slides from No. 5 to No. 6 with 34,000 equivalent album units (down 7%). The former No. 1 has yet to depart the top 10 since it arrived atop the tally 15 weeks ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/dababy\">DaBaby<\/a>\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Baby on Baby<\/em>&nbsp;hits a new high, as the album climbs 8-7 with 30,000 equivalent album units (up 8%), while Logic\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Confessions of a Dangerous Mind&nbsp;<\/em>falls from No. 1 to No. 8 in its second week, with 29,000 units (down 64%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rammstein\">Rammstein<\/a>&nbsp;logs its first top 10 album ever, as its new self-titled set starts at No. 9. The album earned 28,000 equivalent album units, of which 25,000 were in album sales. The effort is the rock band\u2019s first studio album in nearly 10 years, since&nbsp;<em>Liebe ist f\u00fcr alle<\/em>&nbsp;<em>da<\/em>&nbsp;bowed in October of 2009, and debuted and peaked at No. 13 on the Nov. 7, 2009-dated list. That album previously was the highest-charting set for the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Closing out the new top 10 is Megan Thee Stallion, who debuts at No. 10 with&nbsp;<em>Fever<\/em>. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/columns\/hip-hop\/8507719\/megan-thee-stallion-debut-album-fever-interview\">buzzed-about<\/a>&nbsp;Houston rapper\u2019s album bows with 28,000 equivalent album units earned, mostly driven by streams of the set \u2013 it tallied 24,000 in SEA units.
