It one-ups the only other such song to have reigned: Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Aladdin<\/em>&nbsp;theme \u201cA Whole New World,\u201d which spent a week at No. 1 in 1993.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, \u201cBruno\u201d logs its highest weekly totals yet in streaming, sales and radio airplay, as it reaches its first airplay charts: Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. All charts (dated Feb. 12, 2022) will update on&nbsp;Billboard.com&nbsp;tomorrow (Feb. 8). For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bvWRMAU6V-c\" width=\"650\" height=\"360\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New highs in streams, airplay &amp; sales:<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cBruno\u201d drew new weekly bests of 37.6 million U.S. streams (up 8%), 3.6 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 132%) and 13,600 downloads sold (up 10%, aided by 69-cent discount pricing in the iTunes Store, and good for the Hot 100\u2019s top Sales Gainer trophy for a second straight week) in the Jan. 28-Feb. 3 tracking week, according to MRC Data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track tops the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/streaming-songs\">Streaming Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart for a fifth week and rises 3-2 on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/digital-song-sales\/\">Digital Song Sales<\/a>, two weeks after it led the latter list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Record domination for a Disney animated movie song:<\/strong>&nbsp;A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/we-dont-talk-about-bruno-encanto-number-one-hot-100-1235025313\/\">week ago<\/a>, among other feats, \u201cBruno\u201d became the first Hot 100 No. 1 released on Walt Disney Records; the first leader for its sole writer,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/lin-manuel-miranda\/\">Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a>; and the second No. 1 from a Disney animated film, after Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle\u2019s \u201cA Whole New World,\u201d from&nbsp;<em>Aladdin<\/em>, ruled for a week (March 6, 1993).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As \u201cBruno\u201d reigns for a second frame, it becomes the first song from a Disney animated movie to have led the Hot 100 for multiple weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(While \u201cBruno\u201d is the first Hot 100 No. 1 for Walt Disney Records, it\u2019s the second for the Disney Music Group, which includes the Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records labels. \u201cBruno\u201d now equals the reign of Disney Music Group\u2019s sole other leader to-date: Hollywood release \u201cHey There Delilah\u201d by Plain White T\u2019s led for two weeks in 2007.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2018Bruno\u2019 bows on airplay charts:<\/strong>\u00a0As all-format radio audience for \u201cBruno\u201d bounds by 132% to 3.6 million, the song appears on its first radio-based rankings, as it debuts at No. 33 on Adult Pop Airplay and No. 38 on Pop Airplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(The Adult Pop Airplay chart reflects total weekly plays among its reporting panel of 80 adult top 40 stations. Pop Airplay reflects plays among over 150 mainstream top 40 stations.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WGER Saginaw, Mich., led all Adult Pop Airplay reporters with 41 plays for \u201cBruno\u201d in the tracking week, followed by KIOI San Francisco (36); KEZR San Jose, Calif. (30); and WNEW New York (24). Among Pop Airplay panelists, KYLD San Francisco and WARQ Columbia, S.C., led with 37 plays each for the song, followed by KCRZ Fresno, Calif. (22); WPYO Orlando, Fla. (19); and KJYO Oklahoma City, Okla. (18).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Soundtrack &amp; song both No. 1 for second week:<\/strong>&nbsp;As \u201cBruno\u201d crowns the Hot 100 for a second week, its parent album, the&nbsp;<em>Encanto<\/em>&nbsp;soundtrack, tops the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-200\/\">Billboard 200<\/a>&nbsp;albums chart for a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/encanto-soundtrack-billboard-200-chart-number-one-fourth-week-1235027825\/\">fourth week<\/a>&nbsp;(and third in a row), with 113,000 equivalent album units (down 2%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Encanto<\/em>&nbsp;and \u201cBruno\u201d mark the first soundtrack and corresponding song to have led the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously for multiple weeks in over 19 years, since&nbsp;<em>8 Mile<\/em>&nbsp;and Eminem\u2019s \u201cLose Yourself\u201d ruled the respective rankings dated Jan. 11 and 18, 2003. Before that, the last such multi-week double domination belonged to&nbsp;<em>Titanic<\/em>&nbsp;and Celine Dion\u2019s \u201cMy Heart Will Go On,\u201d on the charts dated Feb. 28 and March 7, 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Reel talk:&nbsp;<em>Encanto<\/em>&nbsp;includes an ode to&nbsp;<em>Titanic<\/em>, at the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tQwVKr8rCYw\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">1:44 mark<\/a>&nbsp;of Jessica Darrow\u2019s \u201cSurface Pressure\u201d; see below for more on the song, which hits a new high in the top 10.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among all instances of a soundtrack and one of its songs topping the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously,&nbsp;<em>Encanto<\/em>&nbsp;and \u201cBruno\u201d last week marked the first tandem to claim such a coronation for even a week since&nbsp;<em>A Star Is Born<\/em>&nbsp;and Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper\u2019s \u201cShallow\u201d (March 9, 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, \u201cBruno\u201d is now the first soundtrack song to top the Hot 100 for multiple weeks since Wiz Khalifa\u2019s \u201cSee You Again,\u201d featuring Charlie Puth, from\u00a0<em>Furious 7<\/em>, tallied 12 weeks at No. 1 in April-July 2015. In between, three soundtrack hits led for a week each: Justin Timberlake\u2019s \u201cCan\u2019t Stop the Feeling!,\u201d from\u00a0<em>Trolls<\/em>\u00a0(May 28, 2016); Post Malone and Swae Lee\u2019s \u201cSunflower,\u201d from\u00a0<em>Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse<\/em>\u00a0(Jan. 19, 2019); and \u201cShallow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2018Encanto\u2019 debuts on Hot 100:<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>Encanto<\/em>&nbsp;music bookends the latest Hot 100, as Carlos Vives\u2019 \u201cColombia, Mi Encanto\u201d debuts at No. 100. The song by the venerable star \u2013 like Gait\u00e1n and Castillo, from Colombia \u2013 is the eighth from the&nbsp;<em>Encanto<\/em>&nbsp;soundtrack to hit the Hot 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adele\u2019s \u201cEasy on Me\u201d holds at No. 2 on the Hot 100, after 10 weeks at the summit, as it tied \u201cHello\u201d in 2015-16 for her personal-best command, among her five No. 1s. \u201cEasy\u201d leads the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/radio-songs\">Radio Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart for an 11th week (88.3 million, down 7%), likewise matching \u201cHello\u201d for her longest reign on the airplay tally. \u201cEasy\u201d also drew 13.1 million streams (down 7%) and sold 4,300 downloads (down 19%) in the tracking week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The songs at Nos. 3 through 5 on the Hot 100 also repeat their ranks from a week earlier, led by Glass Animals\u2019 \u201cHeat Waves.\u201d The track, at its highest placement, concurrently tops the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rock-songs\">Hot Rock &amp; Alternative Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-alternative-songs\">Hot Alternative Songs<\/a>&nbsp;charts, both of which use the same multi-metric methodology as the Hot 100, for a 20th week each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber\u2019s \u201cStay\u201d holds at No. 4 on the Hot 100, after seven weeks at No. 1. The collab has spent its first 30 weeks on the chart in the top 10, becoming just the fifth song to achieve the feat; Post Malone\u2019s \u201cCircles\u201d set a record by logging its first 38 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kodak Black\u2019s \u201cSuper Gremlin\u201d keeps at its No. 5 Hot 100 high, as it tops the multi-metric\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-b-hip-hop-songs\">Hot R&amp;B\/Hip-Hop Songs<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rap-song\/\">Hot Rap Songs<\/a>\u00a0charts for a fourth week each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GAYLE\u2019s breakthrough hit \u201cabcdefu\u201d hits a new Hot 100 best, rising 8-6, as it wins the chart\u2019s top Airplay Gainer award for a second week (45.7 million, up 23%).
