The latter samples Big Mama Thornton\u2019s 1953 classic \u201cHound Dog,\u201d which Elvis Presley famously covered in 1956, marking the latest chart success for the iconic song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VF-FGf_ZZiI\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBad Habit,\u201d released on L-M\/RCA Records, tallied 42.3 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 4%), 20.1 million streams (down 2%) and 2,000 downloads sold (down 27%) in the Oct. 7-13 tracking week, according to Luminate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The single, which Lacy solely produced and co-wrote, holds at No. 2 after five nonconsecutive weeks atop the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/streaming-songs\">Streaming Songs<\/a>\u00a0chart; keeps at its No. 7 high on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/radio-songs\/\">Radio Songs<\/a>; and falls to No. 43 from its No. 32 best on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/digital-song-sales\/\">Digital Song Sales<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lacy\u2019s first Hot 100 No. 1, from his album&nbsp;<em>Gemini Rights<\/em>, which&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/bad-bunny-un-verano-sin-ti-number-one-sixth-week-billboard-200-albums-chart-1235117355\/\">debuted<\/a>&nbsp;as his first Billboard 200 top 10, at its No. 7 high, in July, concurrently tops the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rock-songs\">Hot Rock &amp; Alternative Songs<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-rock-songs\/\">Hot Rock Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-alternative-songs\">Hot Alternative Songs<\/a>&nbsp;charts for an eighth week each and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-b-hip-hop-songs\">Hot R&amp;B\/Hip-Hop Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-and-b-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B Songs<\/a>&nbsp;charts for a seventh frame each. It became the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/steve-lacy-bad-habit-tops-rb-hip-hop-songs-alternative-1235135263\/\">first song to rule all five rankings<\/a>&nbsp;(dating to October 2012, when&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2018s main genre-based song charts adopted the Hot 100\u2019s methodology).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sam Smith and Kim Petras\u2019 \u201cUnholy\u201d repeats at its No. 2 Hot 100 high, with 23.2 million streams (down 2%), 15.2 million in airplay audience (up 55%) and 12,000 sold (up 10%). It leads both Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales for a third week and is the first hit to top both charts in its first three weeks on each list since Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cDrivers License\u201d doubled up in its first three weeks on each survey (Jan. 23, 30 and Feb. 6, 2021; it went on to spend its first four frames atop Streaming Songs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harry Styles \u201cAs It Was\u201d is steady at No. 3 on the Hot 100, after 15 weeks at No. 1 \u2013 the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/hot-100-songs-longest-leading-no-1s\/\">fourth-longest reign<\/a>\u00a0in the chart\u2019s history. Still, the song, which debuted at No. 1 on the April 16-dated list, extends its record for the most weeks, 28, tallied in the top three, encompassing its entire run on the chart so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track also rebounds for a ninth week at No. 1 on Radio Songs (60 million in audience, up 2%). It has led the list over a span of 23 weeks (since its first week atop the chart, dated May 21), the second-longest stretch of a song reigning, after The Weeknd\u2019s \u201cBlinding Lights,\u201d which led for 26 weeks over 28 weeks in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Post Malone\u2019s \u201cI Like You (A Happier Song),\u201d featuring Doja Cat, holds at No. 4 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3CkLMG5NwUg\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Morgan Wallen\u2019s \u201cYou Proof\u201d rises 7-5 for a new Hot 100 high, becoming the country star\u2019s first top five hit, among four top 10s. Notably, it\u2019s the second top five hit this decade that has reached the region by appearing on, among individual-format airplay charts, only&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/country-airplay\/\">Country Airplay<\/a>&nbsp;(as opposed to crossing over to pop and\/or adult surveys); Luke Combs\u2019 \u201cForever After All\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/ariana-positions-luke-combs-hot-100-number-one\/\">launched at its No. 2 Hot 100 peak<\/a>&nbsp;in November 2020. Both tracks gained prominence thanks to strong streaming and country radio airplay, as \u201cYou Proof\u201d drew 13.7 million streams in the latest tracking week, as it ranks at No. 8 on Streaming Songs, and tops the Country Airplay chart for a second frame. (\u201cForever\u201d hit No. 2 on Streaming Songs and No. 1 for six weeks on Country Airplay.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Radio Songs, \u201cYou Proof\u201d lifts 11-10 (34.6 million, up 2%), similarly becoming just the third title to reach the top 10 by appearing on Country Airplay but on no other individual genre chart (since Radio Songs became an all-format summary in December 1998). It joins Combs\u2019 \u201cForever After All,\u201d which reached No. 10 on Radio Songs in June 2021, and Cole Swindell\u2019s \u201cShe Had Me at Heads Carolina,\u201d which&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/cole-swindell-she-had-me-at-heads-carolina-career-best-country-airplay-chart\/\">hit No. 9<\/a>&nbsp;on Radio Songs earlier in October (and topped Country Airplay for four frames starting in September).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou Proof\u201d concurrently commands the multi-metric\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/country-songs\/\">Hot Country Songs<\/a>\u00a0chart for a ninth week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OneRepublic\u2019s \u201cI Ain\u2019t Worried\u201d keeps at its No. 6 Hot 100 best; Nicky Youre and dazy\u2019s \u201cSunroof\u201d drops 5-7, after hitting No. 4; Nicki Minaj\u2019s \u201cSuper Freaky Girl\u201d holds at No. 8, after it premiered atop the Aug. 27 chart, as it tops the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rap-song\/\">Hot Rap Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart for a ninth week; and Combs\u2019 \u201cThe Kind of Love We Make\u201d is stationary at No. 9 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QZp2biJul1c\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Rounding out the Hot 100\u2019s top 10, Doja Cat climbs 11-10 with \u201cVegas.\u201d The song, from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/elvis-soundtracks-chart-elvis-presley-movie\/\">hit<\/a>&nbsp;<em>Elvis<\/em>&nbsp;movie soundtrack, reaches the Radio Songs top five (6-5; 48.5 million, up 4%) and also drew 8 million streams and sold 2,000 in the tracking week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doja Cat adds her sixth Hot 100 top 10. Prior to \u201cVegas\u201d and \u201cI Like You,\u201d she tallied \u201cSay So,\u201d featuring Nicki Minaj (No. 1, one week, May 2020); \u201cKiss Me More,\u201d featuring SZA (No. 3, July 2021); \u201cNeed to Know\u201d (No. 8, November 2021); and \u201cWoman\u201d (No. 7, this May). She boasts the most top 10s among women this decade, surpassing Taylor Swift\u2019s five since the start of 2020 (although with Swift appearing primed to reignite that race thanks to her LP&nbsp;<em>Midnights<\/em>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/lists\/taylor-swift-midnights-everything-we-know\/\">due this Friday<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVegas\u201d samples&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/6U60FpmscwzTJjc9gmZcKl?highlight=spotify:track:5Oc0vLGWdEWeCqIU8zyELt\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Big Mama Thornton\u2019s \u201cHound Dog,\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;a&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>&nbsp;R&amp;B chart No. 1 for the blues legend (who passed away in 1984) nearly 70 years ago. Written by Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/jerry-leiber-legendary-songwriter-with-mike-stoller-dead-at-78-1173595\/\">Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aNYWl13IWhY\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elvis Presley\u2019s version<\/a>&nbsp;crowned multiple&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>&nbsp;charts in 1956. (The Hot 100&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/hot-100-64-years-fun-facts-ricky-nelson-lizzo-1235122282\/\">began<\/a>&nbsp;Aug. 4, 1958.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presley\u2019s imprint is, thus, extended in the Hot 100\u2019s top 10. Notably, \u201cHound Dog\u201d was originally released with B-side and fellow classic \u201cDon\u2019t Be Cruel,\u201d also a No. 1 on multiple&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>&nbsp;surveys in 1956, and Cheap Trick\u2019s faithful cover of the latter hit No. 4 on the Hot 100 in October 1988. Earlier in 1988, Pet Shop Boys likewise sent their interpretation of \u201cAlways on My Mind\u201d to No. 4 (that May), after Presley\u2019s ballad version hit No. 16 on Hot Country Songs in 1973. In July 1993, UB40\u2019s take on \u201cCan\u2019t Help Falling in Love,\u201d which Presley took to No. 2 on the Hot 100 in 1962, began a seven-week reign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The late Presley himself appeared on the Hot 100 as recently as January 2021, when his holiday perennial \u201cBlue Christmas,\u201d originally from 1957, hit a No. 33 high, after becoming his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/elvis-presley-highest-charting-hot-100-hit-since-1978-blue-christmas-debut\/\">highest-charting entry since 1981<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVegas\u201d (a noteworthy hit in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/doja-cat-vegas-music-interpolation-influx\/\">Tupelo, Miss.<\/a>) additionally becomes Doja Cat\u2019s sixth No. 1 on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/pop-songs\/\">Pop Airplay<\/a>&nbsp;chart.
