It becomes the 44th song since the Hot 100 began in August 1958 to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/hot-100-songs-longest-leading-no-1s\/\">reign for 10 or more weeks<\/a>, out of 1,149 total No. 1s \u2013 an achievement that only 4% of all leaders have attained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/luke-combs\/\">Luke Combs<\/a>\u2019 cover of Tracy Chapman\u2019s classic \u201cFast Car\u201d keeps on driving, advancing from No. 8 to No. 4 on the Hot 100. The song surpasses the No. 6 peak in 1988 of Chapman\u2019s original \u2013 and, combined with Wallen\u2019s \u201cLast Night,\u201d makes for two simultaneous top five country hits for the first time since 2000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"post-video\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Morgan Wallen - Last Night (One Record At A Time Sessions)\" width=\"1165\" height=\"655\" src=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/embed\/bUjPPBxbQrQ?wmode=transparent&#038;fs=1\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Wallen\u2019s \u201cLast Night,\u201d released on Big Loud\/Mercury\/Republic Records, drew 68.8 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 4%) and 31 million streams (down 6%) and sold 8,000 downloads (down 6%) in the June 2-8 tracking week, according to Luminate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The song, which&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/morgan-wallen-last-night-hot-100-number-one-1235285151\/\">initially led<\/a>&nbsp;the Hot 100 in March, becoming Wallen\u2019s first leader on the list, adds a 12th week at No. 1 on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/streaming-songs\">Streaming Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart; holds at its No. 4 high on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/radio-songs\/\">Radio Songs<\/a>; and rebounds 6-4 on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/digital-song-sales\/\">Digital Song Sales<\/a>, following a week on top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, \u201cLast Night\u201d tops&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/country-songs\/\">Hot Country Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart, which employs the same multi-metric methodology as the Hot 100, for an 18th week \u2013 tying for the 10th-longest command since the chart became an all-encompassing genre survey in October 1958. Wallen is the only soloist with two of the 10 longest-leading Hot Country Songs hits in that span, as his \u201cYou Proof\u201d amassed 19 weeks on top in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLast Night\u201d concurrently leads the Country Airplay chart for a sixth week and holds at its No. 10 best on the Pop Airplay chart. It became Wallen\u2019s ninth No. 1 on the former and his first top 10 on the latter list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLast Night\u201d is also the hottest hit on&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/summer-songs\">Songs of the Summer chart<\/a>, which&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/songs-of-the-summer-chart-returns-2023-morgan-wallen-1235346631\/\">returned a week earlier<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miley Cyrus\u2019 \u201cFlowers\u201d lifts 3-2 on the Hot 100, after eight weeks at No. 1 beginning upon its debut in January. It posts a 17th week atop Radio Songs (87 million in audience, essentially even week-over-week). (It reaches the top three in its 40th week on the chart, the fifth-longest ascent to the region; Glass Animals\u2019 \u201cHeat Waves\u201d took a record 51 weeks to the top three in 2021-22.) \u201cCalm Down\u201d also tops the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-u-s-afrobeats-songs\/\">Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart for a 41st week, extending the longest reign since the ranking&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/afrobeats-songs-chart-first-anniversary-calm-down-tems-burna-boy-1235295679\/\">began<\/a>&nbsp;over a year ago (in partnership with music festival and global brand&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/t\/afro-nation\/\">Afro Nation<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luke Combs\u2019 cover of Tracy Chapman\u2019s \u201cFast Car\u201d accelerates to a new No. 4 Hot 100 high. The song bests the No. 6 peak, in August 1988, of Chapman\u2019s original. Three weeks ago, Combs\u2019 version became the 16th remake of an \u201880s Hot 100 top 10 to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/lists\/fast-car-luke-combs-80s-top-10-hits-remade-top-10-again\/\">also reach the tier<\/a>. As his has now charted higher than Chapman\u2019s, of those 16 such double-ups, covers have peaked higher than originals in only five cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, Chapman, who solely wrote \u201cFast Car,\u201d appears in the Hot 100\u2019s top five with a second hit as a songwriter: \u201cGive Me One Reason,\u201d which she also penned solo, and which became her other top 10 as a recording artist, hit No. 3 in June 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combs adds his second top five Hot 100 hit, after \u201cForever After All\u201d debuted at its No. 2 peak in November 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFast Car\u201d wins the Hot 100\u2019s top Airplay Gainer award for a third consecutive week (34.2 million, up 30%). As previously reported, it&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/luke-combs-fast-car-country-airplay-chart-top-10\/\">hits the Country Airplay top 10<\/a>&nbsp;and ranks in the top 25 on Adult Contemporary, Adult Pop Airplay and Pop Airplay. The song is also up 1% to 20.2 million streams and 4% to 9,000 sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, with Wallen\u2019s \u201cLast Night\u201d at No. 1 and Combs\u2019 \u201cFast Car\u201d parked at No. 4, two country hits (as defined by titles that have hit&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s Hot Country Songs chart, where they currently place at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively) rank in the Hot 100\u2019s top five simultaneously for the first time in over 23 years: for eight weeks in February-April 2000, Lonestar\u2019s \u201cAmazed\u201d and Faith Hill\u2019s \u201cBreathe\u201d shared space in the top five. (Before that, such tandems had not occurred since September 1981, when Juice Newton\u2019s \u201cQueen of Hearts\u201d and Ronnie Milsap\u2019s \u201c[There\u2019s] No Gettin\u2019 Over Me\u201d ranked in the top five together.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pair of country songs appearing in the Hot 100\u2019s top five for the first time in nearly a quarter-century continues the genre\u2019s surge this year; as analyzed by Hit Songs Deconstructed, country tied pop as the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/state-of-hot-100-top-10-q1-2023-hit-songs-deconstrcuted\/\">most prominent primary genres<\/a>&nbsp;in the chart\u2019s top 10 in Q1 2023, marking country\u2019s best such showing in over a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lil Durk\u2019s \u201cAll My Life,\u201d featuring J. Cole, dips 4-5 on the Hot 100, three weeks after it launched at its No. 2 high. It tops the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-b-hip-hop-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B\/Hip-Hop Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rap-song\/\">Hot Rap Songs<\/a>&nbsp;for a third week each. SZA\u2019s \u201cKill Bill\u201d keeps at No. 6 on the Hot 100, after it became her first No. 1, for a week in April. It leads the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-and-b-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart for a 25th week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toosii\u2019s \u201cFavorite Song\u201d rebounds 9-7 on the Hot 100, after hitting No. 5. Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma\u2019s \u201cElla Baila Sola\u201d retreats 7-8 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 4 \u2013 the best rank ever for a regional Mexican song. It posts a 10th week at No. 1 on the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/latin-songs\/\">Hot Latin Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Metro Boomin, The Weeknd and 21 Savage\u2019s \u201cCreepin\u2019 \u201d repeats at No. 9 on the Hot 100, after hitting No. 3, and, rounding out the top 10, Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cKarma,\u201d featuring Ice Spice, falls to No. 10 from its No. 2 high, a week after it vaulted (from No. 27) following the first week of tracking after the release of its remix with Ice Spice.
