Jung Kook becomes the second member of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/bts\/\">BTS<\/a>&nbsp;with a Hot 100 leader, after Jimin\u2019s \u201cLike Crazy\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/jimin-like-crazy-debuts-number-one-first-bts-solo-hot-100-1235297097\/\">launched at No. 1<\/a>&nbsp;in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Latto also lands her first Hot 100 No. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/jason-aldean\/\">Jason Aldean<\/a>\u2019s \u201cTry That in a Small Town\u201d debuts at No. 2 on the Hot 100. The song, released in May, debuts with the biggest sales week for a country song in over 10 years, after CMT pulled its video, which premiered July 14, from rotation after three days, resulting in a surge of attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated July 29, 2023) will update on&nbsp;Billboard.com&nbsp;Tuesday (July 25). It\u2019s the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/photos\/billboard-hot-100-number-1-song-debuts-426225\/\">68th leader to debut at No. 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Streams, airplay &amp; sales:<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cSeven\u201d soars in at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with 21.9 million streams, 6.4 million in airplay audience and 153,000 combined digital and CD singles sold from its&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/jung-kook-latto-seven-stream-1235371478\/\">release July 14<\/a>&nbsp;through July 20, according to Luminate. (The song\u2019s original and instrumental versions were released July 14 and its \u201cSummer\u201d and \u201cBand\u201d mixes arrived July 17; all were available for download for 69 cents. The song\u2019s original version was also available for purchase on CD beginning July 14 for $1.99.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSeven\u201d debuts at No. 2 on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/digital-song-sales\/\">Digital Song Sales<\/a>&nbsp;chart and No. 4 on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/streaming-songs\">Streaming Songs<\/a>. While below the all-format&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/radio-songs\/\">Radio Songs<\/a>&nbsp;tally, it debuts at No. 30 on Adult Pop Airplay and No. 33 on Pop Airplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jung Kook\u2019s Hot 100 history:<\/strong>\u00a0Jung Kook earns his first Hot 100 No. 1, or even top 10, following two charted songs in 2022: Charlie Puth\u2019s \u201cLeft and Right,\u201d featuring Jung Kook, hit No. 22 (July), after Jung Kook\u2019s own \u201cStay Alive\u201d spent a week on the list at No. 95 (February).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BTS now with 2 members with Hot 100 No. 1s:<\/strong>&nbsp;Jung Kook becomes the second member of BTS with a Hot 100 No. 1 (or, again, even a top 10), after Jimin\u2019s \u201cLike Crazy\u201d debuted at No. 1 in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BTS \u2013 comprising j-hope, Jimin, Jin, Jung Kook, RM, Suga and V \u2013 has posted six Hot 100 leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The superstar Korean septet is now among elite company, as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/groups-whose-members-have-solo-hot-100-hits\/\">nine groups boast multiple members with solo Hot 100 No. 1s<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Beatles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Black Eyed Peas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blind Faith<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BTS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Destiny\u2019s Child<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fugees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Genesis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hot Boys<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Direction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, with BTS having logged six Hot 100 No. 1s and Jung Kook and Jimin with one No. 1 each, BTS joins The Beatles, The Black Eyed Peas, Destiny\u2019s Child and Genesis as the only groups with leaders and multiple members also with No. 1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Latto leads:<\/strong>&nbsp;Latto likewise earns her first Hot 100 No. 1 with \u201cSeven.\u201d She previously hit the top 10 with \u201cBig Energy,\u201d which rose to No. 3 in April 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"post-video\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jason Aldean - Try That In A Small Town (Official Music Video)\" width=\"1165\" height=\"655\" src=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/embed\/b1_RKu-ESCY?wmode=transparent&#038;fs=1\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Jason Aldean\u2019s \u201cTry That in a Small Town\u201d roars onto the Hot 100 at No. 2, as it drew 11.6 million streams (up 547%) and 7.3 million in radio airplay audience (up 17%) and sold 228,000 (up 27,625%) July 14-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track debuts at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales, where it\u2019s Aldean\u2019s first leader, and No. 37 on Streaming Songs. While not on Radio Songs, it holds at No. 25 in its ninth week on Country Airplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The song scores the largest digital sales week for a country title (defined as by those that have hit&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s Country Digital Song Sales chart) in over 10 years, since Florida Georgia Line\u2019s \u201cCruise,\u201d featuring Nelly, sold 244,000, as reflected on charts dated July 6, 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 18,&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>&nbsp;confirmed that CMT had&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/country\/jason-aldean-try-that-in-a-small-town-video-pulled-cmt-1235373842\/\">pulled<\/a>&nbsp;the official video for \u201cTry That in a Small Town\u201d after three days in rotation; the network declined to say why. Following CMT\u2019s decision, Aldean posted a message to his Instagram Stories addressing the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/country\/jason-aldean-try-that-in-a-small-town-pro-gun-racist-fan-reactions-1235373529\/\">contrasting reactions<\/a>&nbsp;that the song and video have faced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The song\u2019s video, released July 14, features footage of an American flag burning, protesters in confrontation with police, looters breaking a display case and thieves robbing a convenience store. The clip has prompted a firestorm of opinions about it and the song\u2019s intent and messaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aldean achieves his second Hot 100 top 10, after \u201cDirt Road Anthem,\u201d which, helped by its remix featuring Ludacris, hit No. 7 in July 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTry That in a Small Town\u201d concurrently re-enters at No. 1 on<em>&nbsp;Billboard<\/em>\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/country-songs\/\">Hot Country Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart, which employs the same multi-metric methodology as the Hot 100. (The single spent one prior week on Hot Country Songs, at No. 35 on the June 3-dated list, reflecting its first week of tracking.) Aldean adds his 10th Hot Country Songs champ. He first led with \u201cWhy\u201d in May 2006 and had most recently reigned with \u201cBurnin\u2019 It Down\u201d in 2014. He also notches his 37th top 10; he\u2019s peaked in the top 10 at least once each year dating to his first such hit, \u201cHicktown,\u201d in 2005 \u2013 the longest active streak of annual top 10s on the chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morgan Wallen\u2019s \u201cLast Night\u201d descends to No. 3 on the Hot 100 after 14 weeks at No. 1; it\u2019s tied for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/hot-100-songs-longest-leading-no-1s\/\">fifth-longest command<\/a>\u00a0in the chart\u2019s history. It lands an eighth week atop\u00a0<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/summer-songs\">Songs of the Summer chart<\/a>, having ranked at No. 1 each week since the seasonal recap\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/songs-of-the-summer-chart-returns-2023-morgan-wallen-1235346631\/\">returned<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luke Combs\u2019 cover of Tracy Chapman\u2019s \u201cFast Car\u201d falls to No. 4 on the Hot 100 after three weeks at its No. 2 high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, thanks to Aldean, Wallen and Combs\u2019 hits, which rank at Nos. 1, 2 and 3, respectively, on Hot Country Songs, the top three songs on the chart place in the Hot 100\u2019s top four spots for the first time since the rankings began using the same formula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rema and Selena Gomez\u2019s \u201cCalm Down\u201d dips 4-5 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 3, as it logs a fifth week atop Radio Songs (92.9 million, up 1%). It tops\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-u-s-afrobeats-songs\/\">Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs<\/a>\u00a0for a 47th week, extending the longest reign since the chart\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/afrobeats-songs-chart-first-anniversary-calm-down-tems-burna-boy-1235295679\/\">began<\/a>\u00a0(in partnership with music festival and global brand\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/t\/afro-nation\/\">Afro Nation<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gunna\u2019s \u201cFukumean\u201d rises 7-6 for a new Hot 100 high \u2013 and reaches No. 1 on Streaming Songs (27.4 million, up 16%), where it\u2019s the rapper\u2019s second leader, after \u201cDrip Too Hard,\u201d with Lil Baby, ruled for a week in October 2018. \u201cFukumean\u201d tops both the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-b-hip-hop-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B\/Hip-Hop Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rap-song\/\">Hot Rap Songs<\/a>&nbsp;charts for a second week each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two weeks after arriving as her third Hot 100 No. 1, Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cVampire\u201d retreats 3-7; Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cCruel Summer\u201d climbs 9-8, after hitting No. 7; Miley Cyrus\u2019 \u201cFlowers\u201d backtracks 6-9, after eight weeks at No. 1 beginning upon its debut in January; and, rounding out the top 10, Lil Durk\u2019s \u201cAll My Life,\u201d featuring J.
