The rapper\/singer\u2019s second career leader, which first led three weeks earlier, is her first to reign for multiple weeks, after her \u201cSay So,\u201d featuring Nicki Minaj, spent a week at No. 1 in May 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/taylor-swift\/\">Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s \u201cCruel Summer\u201d rises 6-4 on the Hot 100 (after reaching No. 3) and ascends to the summit on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/radio-songs\/\">Radio Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart, becoming her eighth leader on the airplay ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. It wins the Hot 100\u2019s top Airplay Gainer award for a second consecutive frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The single climbs 3-1 on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/streaming-songs\">Streaming Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart \u2013 becoming Doja Cat\u2019s first leader on the list; adds a second week at No. 1 on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/digital-song-sales\/\">Digital Song Sales<\/a>; and pushes 9-7 on Radio Songs. It concurrently tops the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-b-hip-hop-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B\/Hip-Hop Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rap-song\/\">Hot Rap Songs<\/a>&nbsp;charts for a fifth and sixth week, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(As \u201cPaint the Town Red\u201d samples Dionne Warwick\u2019s 1964 standard \u201cWalk on By,\u201d legendary late songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David are credited as writers on both songs. Doja Cat\u2019s hit is Bacharach\u2019s first multi-week leader, among eight total No. 1s, since \u201cThat\u2019s What Friends Are For\u201d by Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder [four weeks in 1986]; David has his first multi-week No. 1, among five leaders, since the Carpenters\u2019 \u201c[They Long To Be] Close to You\u201d [four weeks, 1970].)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SZA\u2019s \u201cSnooze\u201d rises 3-2 for a new Hot 100 high, with 72.9 million in radio audience (up 4%), 17.5 million streams (down 18%) and 2,000 sold (down 35%); a week earlier, it jumped from No. 8 following the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/justin-bieber-joins-sza-snooze-acoustic-version-1235413660\/\">Sept. 15 release<\/a>&nbsp;of its remix featuring Justin Bieber. It tops the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-and-b-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart for a 10th week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The song becomes SZA\u2019s third to reach the Hot 100\u2019s top two \u2013 all this year \u2013 following her first two No. 1s: \u201cKill Bill,\u201d which led for a week in April, and Drake\u2019s \u201cSlime You Out,\u201d on which she\u2019s featured; the latter debuted at No. 1 a week earlier and falls to No. 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luke Combs\u2019 cover of Tracy Chapman\u2019s No. 6-peaking 1988 Hot 100 classic \u201cFast Car\u201d rides 4-3, following eight weeks at its No. 2 high. It adds a second week at No. 1 on the multi-metric\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/country-songs\/\">Hot Country Songs<\/a>\u00a0chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ic8j13piAhQ?si=9sW5yc-QCbOj99e_\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cCruel Summer\u201d advances 6-4 on the Hot 100, after hitting No. 3, and elevates 2-1 to crown the Radio Songs chart (76.1 million, up 2%). Republic Records began\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/taylor-swift-cruel-summer-new-radio-single-1235355186\/\">promoting<\/a>\u00a0it as a single in June, as Swift has performed it on her The Eras Tour, her first in which she\u2019s been able to spotlight songs from\u00a0<em>Lover<\/em>, which was released shortly before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, the song is the second released in the 2010s to top Radio Songs this year; The Weeknd and Ariana Grande\u2019s \u201cDie for You\u201d (also on Republic)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/the-weeknd-die-for-you-tops-radio-songs-chart-1235213931\/\">dominated<\/a>\u00a0for two weeks in February, after it was originally released, by The Weeknd solo, in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, with Radio Songs No. 1s in the 2000s, \u201910s and \u201920s, Swift is the only artist with leaders on the chart in each of the three decades, as well as the only artist with No. 1s as a lead act in any three distinct decades, dating to the \u201890s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zach Bryan\u2019s \u201cI Remember Everything,\u201d featuring Kacey Musgraves, holds at No. 5 on the Hot 100, four weeks after it debuted at No. 1. It leads the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rock-songs\/\">Hot Rock &amp; Alternative Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-rock-songs\/\">Hot Rock Songs<\/a>&nbsp;charts for a fifth week each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morgan Wallen\u2019s \u201cLast Night\u201d rebounds 8-6 on the Hot 100, following 16 weeks at No. 1, the most ever for a non-collaboration; Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cVampire\u201d keeps at No. 7, following two nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1; and Gunna\u2019s \u201cFukumean\u201d rises 9-8, after hitting No. 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rema and Selena Gomez\u2019s \u201cCalm Down\u201d returns to the Hot 100\u2019s top 10, lifting 11-9, after reaching No. 3.
