The song \u2013 originally released on Swift\u2019s 2019 Republic Records album&nbsp;<em>Lover<\/em>&nbsp;before being promoted as a single and gaining new prominence as the superstar has performed it on her The Eras Tour this year \u2013 concurrently hits No. 1 on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/streaming-songs\">Streaming Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart and returns to the top of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/radio-songs\/\">Radio Songs<\/a>&nbsp;survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. It follows \u201cAnti-Hero\u201d (two weeks at No. 1, in 2022); \u201cAll Too Well (Taylor\u2019s Version)\u201d (one week, 2021); \u201cCardigan\u201d (one, 2020); \u201cLook What You Made Me Do\u201d (two, 2017); \u201cBlank Space\u201d (seven, 2014-15); and \u201cShake It Off\u201d (two, 2014-15). Swift breaks out of a tie with Justin Bieber for the second-most Streaming Songs No. 1s and trails only Drake, the leader with 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over four years after its release, \u201cCruel Summer\u201d completes the longest route, from a title\u2019s release, to No. 1 on Streaming Songs among non-holiday hits. Only two songs, both seasonal standards, have taken longer: Brenda Lee\u2019s \u201cRockin\u2019 Around the Christmas Tree\u201d jingled to No. 1 for the first time last holiday season following its 1958 release, while Mariah Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d spent the first of its 18 weeks at No. 1 to date in the 2018 holiday season, after it was released in 1994.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCruel Summer\u201d simultaneously rebounds for a second week atop Radio Songs. Notably, it\u2019s the first song this year to crown the Hot 100 while reigning as both the most-streamed title and most-heard hit on radio. It\u2019s the third song to achieve the feat this decade, following Harry Syles\u2019 \u201cAs It Was\u201d (for one week in June 2022) and Adele\u2019s \u201cEasy On Me\u201d (one, November 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/digital-song-sales\/\">Digital Song Sales<\/a>&nbsp;chart, \u201cCruel Summer\u201d drops to No. 2, a week after it became Swift\u2019s record-extending 27th No. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/taylor-swift-1989-taylors-version-first-day-sales-1235457435\/\">previously reported<\/a>, Swift is set to storm next week\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-200\/\">Billboard 200<\/a>&nbsp;albums chart with the arrival of her latest rerecorded set,&nbsp;<em>1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doja Cat\u2019s \u201cPaint the Town Red\u201d holds at No. 2 on the Hot 100, following three nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 beginning in September. It adds an eighth and ninth week, respectively, atop the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-b-hip-hop-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B\/Hip-Hop Songs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rap-song\/\">Hot Rap Songs<\/a>&nbsp;charts, which use the same multi-metric methodology as the Hot 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SZA\u2019s \u201cSnooze\u201d is steady at No. 3 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2. It posts a 13th week atop the multi-metric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/r-and-b-songs\/\">Hot R&amp;B Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zach Bryan\u2019s \u201cI Remember Everything,\u201d featuring Kacey Musgraves, bumps 6-4 on the Hot 100, after it led for a week upon its debut in September.
