The song, which became the singer-songwriter\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/lists\/shaboozey-chappell-roan-hot-100-top-10\/\">first leader<\/a>&nbsp;in July, extends 2024\u2019s longest reign and moves to within two weeks of tying the longest command this decade; Morgan Wallen\u2019s fellow country\/pop crossover smash \u201cLast Night\u201d led for 16 weeks in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, as \u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy)\u201d became Shaboozey\u2019s first Hot 100 chart entry with no other billed acts, it ties for the second-longest No. 1 stay among all such breakthrough hits, with only Lil Nas X\u2019s debut, \u201cOld Town Road\u201d (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus), having led longer, for an overall-record 19 weeks in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy)\u201d additionally furthers the longest No. 1 run of 2024 on the multimetric&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/country-songs\/\">Hot Country Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart, adding an 18th week in the top spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fan of multiple musical styles upon discovering music, Shaboozey \u201cfound country to be the thing that resonated with me in a really strong way,\u201d he shared for his&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/country\/shaboozey-a-bar-song-tipsy-country-music-cover-1235790910\/\">cover story<\/a>. \u201cMe being from Virginia, me loving the style and the way of life and the things they talked about \u2026 it all seemed very peaceful. It seemed like I could be real. I found country music could teach people that the little things in life are where the value is.
