Plus, the chart&#8217;s top 10 is all-holiday for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/mariah-carey\/\">Mariah Carey<\/a>\u2018s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d crowns the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-100\">Billboard Hot 100<\/a>&nbsp;for an 18th total week. The carol, which leads for a fourth consecutive week this holiday season, moves to within one week of the longest domination in the chart\u2019s 66-year history, after only the 19-week rules of Shaboozey\u2019s \u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy)\u201d this year and Lil Nas X\u2019s \u201cOld Town Road,\u201d featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d was originally released on Carey\u2019s album&nbsp;<em>Merry Christmas<\/em>&nbsp;in November 1994 and, as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/luminatedata.com\/reports\/midyear-music-industry-report-2024\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">streaming has grown<\/a>&nbsp;and holiday music has become more&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/business\/business-news\/christmas-songs-breaking-through-music-market-1235009608\/\">prominent<\/a>&nbsp;on streaming services\u2019 playlists, it hit the Hot 100\u2019s top 10 for the first time in December 2017, and the top five for the first time in the 2018 holiday season. It led at last, prior to the past four weeks, over the holidays&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/business\/chart-beat\/8546418\/mariah-carey-all-i-want-for-christmas-is-you-number-one\">in 2019<\/a>&nbsp;(for three weeks), 2020 (two), 2021 (three), 2022 (four) and 2023 (two).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track also holds at No. 1 on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/streaming-songs\/\">Streaming Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart for a record-extending 22nd week, leads&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/digital-song-sales\/\">Digital Song Sales<\/a>&nbsp;for a sixth week and hits the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/radio-songs\/\">Radio Songs<\/a>&nbsp;top 10 for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d became Carey\u2019s 19th Hot 100 No. 1, the most among soloists and one away from The Beatles\u2019 overall record 20. It also made Carey the first artist to have ranked at No. 1 on the chart in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/business\/chart-beat\/8547157\/mariah-carey-number-one-hot-100-four-decades-all-i-want-for-christmas-is-you\">four distinct decades<\/a>&nbsp;(1990s, 2000s, \u201810s and \u201820s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yXQViqx6GMY?si=R5D4DFO-0u74L01I\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>In a historic first, the Hot 100\u2019s top 10 consists entirely of holiday hits. In fact, the top 16 spots on the chart belong to seasonal songs; Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars\u2019 \u201cDie With a Smile\u201d is the top non-Yuletide title, at No. 17 after reaching No. 2. Previously, holiday songs hit a high by infusing the top eight positions a year ago this week (along with nine of the top 10 last week, a year ago this week and four years ago this week).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the Hot 100\u2019s top 10,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/ariana-grande\/\">Ariana Grande<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cSanta Tell Me\u201d dashes 9-5, becoming only the eighth holiday song in the chart\u2019s history to reach the top five, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/nat-king-cole\/\">Nat King Cole<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThe Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You)\u201d returns to the tier (14-10, after reaching No. 9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations.
