The song&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/lists\/ella-langley-choosin-texas-hot-100-number-one\/\">first led<\/a>&nbsp;in mid-February and added its second week on top at the beginning of March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d solely claims the most weeks ever spent atop the Hot 100 for a song by a woman that also hit No. 1 on&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/country-songs\/\">Hot Country Songs<\/a>&nbsp;chart, one-upping Taylor Swift\u2019s three-week Hot 100 reign with \u201cWe Are Never Ever Getting Back Together\u201d in 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d and \u201cWe Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,\u201d three No. 1 country hits by women topped the Hot 100 for two weeks each: Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cTexas Hold \u2018Em\u201d in 2024 and Dolly Parton\u2019s \u201cIslands in the Stream,\u201d with Kenny Rogers (1983), and \u201c9 to 5\u201d (1981).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also of note among country classics by women: Parton wrote \u201cI Will Always Love You,\u201d with Whitney Houston\u2019s cover ruling the Hot 100 for 14 weeks in 1992-93 (after Parton sent two of her versions to No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, in 1974 and 1982). Plus, Debby Boone\u2019s \u201cYou Light Up My Life\u201d dominated the Hot 100 for 10 weeks and hit No. 4 on Hot Country Songs in 1977 and Bobbie Gentry\u2019s \u201cOde to Billie Joe\u201d led the Hot 100 for four weeks in 1967 and made it to No. 17 on Hot Country Songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d concurrently crowns Hot Country Songs for a 17th week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in the Hot 100\u2019s top 10,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/olivia-dean\/\">Olivia Dean<\/a>&nbsp;charts her second career hit in the tier as \u201cSo Easy (To Fall in Love)\u201d lifts 11-9.
