It breaks out of a tie with Debby Boone\u2019s \u201cYou Light Up My Life,\u201d which dominated the Hot 100 for 10 weeks (becoming the first song to reign for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/lists\/hot-100-number-1-songs-on-top-longest\/\">double-digit<\/a>&nbsp;weeks) and reached No. 4 on Hot Country Songs in 1977.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Also of note, Dolly Parton wrote \u201c I Will Always Love You,\u201d which Whitney Houston took to No. 1 on the Hot 100 for 14 weeks in 1992-93. Parton sent two versions of the revered ballad to the top of Hot Country Songs, in 1974 and 1982.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d tops Hot Country Songs for a 29th week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/i1IX4Dusi9k?si=H69vIjXacapj502G\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The hit adds another unprecedented feat: Langley\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/lists\/ella-langley-choosin-texas-hot-100-number-one\/\">first Hot 100 leader<\/a>\u00a0stakes its sixth distinct stay at No. 1, previously leading on charts dated Feb. 14; March 7 and 21-28; April 11-25; and May 9-23. It solely claims the most separate No. 1 stays over a single release cycle, one-upping the five flights for Morgan Wallen\u2019s \u201cLast Night\u201d in 2023 and Harry Styles\u2019 \u201cAs It Was\u201d in 2022. (Overall, Mariah Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d leads with eight ascents to No. 1 over 2019-25.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amid the No. 1 run on the Hot 100 for the resilient \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d eight other songs have taken turns at the top: Bad Bunny\u2019s \u201cDtMF\u201d; Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cOpalite;\u201d Bruno Mars\u2019 \u201cI Just Might\u201d; BTS\u2019 \u201cSwim\u201d; Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cDrop Dead\u201d; Drake\u2019s \u201cJanice STFU\u201d; Ariana Grande\u2019s \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me\u201d; and Swift\u2019s \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You.\u201d (The reigns of \u201cLast Night\u201d and \u201cAs It Was\u201d were interrupted by six No. 1s each.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read on for details of the entire top 10 on this week\u2019s Hot 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations.
