Of that sum, 70,000 were in traditional album sales (down 10 percent).<\/p>\n<p><em>The Greatest Showman<\/em>\u00a0is just the fifth soundtrack in the last 10 years to spend multiple weeks at No. 1.<\/p>\n<p>The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/columns\/chart-beat\/6320099\/billboard-200-makeover-streams-digital-tracks\">multi-metric consumption<\/a>, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new\u00a0Jan. 20-dated chart (where\u00a0<em>The Greatest Showman<\/em>\u00a0spends a second week at No. 1) will be posted in full on\u00a0<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s websites on Wednesday, Jan. 17 (one day later than normal, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday on Jan. 15).<\/p>\n<p>In the past 10 years, 21 soundtracks have hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and, of those, just five have netted multiple weeks atop the list:\u00a0<em>The Greatest Showman<\/em>(two, so far),\u00a0<em>Suicide Squad: The Album<\/em>\u00a0(two, in 2016),\u00a0<em>Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1<\/em>\u00a0(two, 2014),\u00a0<em>Frozen<\/em>\u00a0(13, 2014) and\u00a0<em>Glee: The Music, Volume 3 &#8212; Showstoppers\u00a0<\/em>(two, 2010). The last live action musical released in movie theaters to see its soundtrack notch more than a week at No. 1 was the\u00a0<em>Dreamgirls<\/em>\u00a0album, with\u00a0two\u00a0weeks in the penthouse back in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Since\u00a0<em>The Greatest Showman<\/em>\u2019s release in theaters on Dec. 20, the movie has earned an estimated $95 million at the U.S. and Canada box office, according to Box Office Mojo.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Greatest Showman<\/em>\u00a0album features performances by the movie\u2019s stars, including Hugh Jackman,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/zac-efron\/chart\">Zac Efron<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/zendaya\/chart\">Zendaya<\/a>\u00a0and Michelle Williams. Four songs from the album debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated Jan. 13, led by \u201cThis Is Me,\u201d by Keala Settle and the film\u2019s ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>Back on the new Billboard 200 chart,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/ed-sheeran\/chart\">Ed Sheeran<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>\u00f7<\/em>\u00a0(<em>Divide<\/em>) holds at No. 2 with 53,000 units (down 21 percent), while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/g-eazy\/chart\">G-Eazy<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Beautiful &amp; Damned<\/em>\u00a0returns to its peak (and debut position) at No. 3 with 38,000 units (down 10 percent).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/bruno-mars\/chart\">Bruno Mars<\/a>\u2019\u00a0<em>24K Magic<\/em>\u00a0hits its highest rank in eight months, and returns to the top 10 after more than four months, climbing 15-4 with 37,000 units (up 75 percent). The set\u2019s rises is driven by the strong start of its new single, \u201cFinesse,\u201d which has been boosted by a new remix with rapper\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/cardi-b\/chart\">Cardi B<\/a>. (The remix is merged with the original version of &#8220;Finesse,&#8221; and contributes to the SEA and TEA units of the song&#8217;s parent album, as most remixes do.)<\/p>\n<p>The album has not\u00a0ranked this high since the April 22, 2017-dated list, when it placed at No. 4; and has not\u00a0been in the top 10 since Sept. 2, 2017, when it was No. 10. The album debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Dec. 10, 2016 chart.<\/p>\n<p>Post Malone\u2019s\u00a0<em>Stoney<\/em>\u00a0ascends 8-5 on the latest Billboard 200, with nearly 37,000 units (down 6 percent),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/taylor-swift\/chart\">Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Reputation<\/em>\u00a0falls 3-6 with a little over 36,000 units (down 24 percent) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/eminem\/chart\">Eminem<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Revival<\/em>\u00a0dips 6-7 with 36,000 units (down 11 percent).\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/kendrick-lamar\/chart\">Kendrick Lamar<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>DAMN.<\/em>\u00a0slides 5-8 with 35,000 units (down 15 percent), Huncho Jack\u2019s\u00a0<em>Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho<\/em>\u00a0is steady at No. 9 with 32,000 units (down 17 percent), and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/sam-smith\/chart\">Sam Smith<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Thrill of It All<\/em>\u00a0climbs back into the top 10, rising 12-10 with 29,000 units (up 5 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Source: billboard.com<\/p>\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-893\" data-postid=\"893\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-893 themify_builder themify_builder_front\">\r\n\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<!-- \/themify_builder_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The soundtrack to the musical drama film\u00a0The Greatest Showman\u00a0scores a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, as the set earned 104,000 equivalent album units (down 3 percent) in the week ending Jan. 11, according to Nielsen Music.
