Of that sum, 121,000 were in traditional album sales &#8212; the largest sales week for a rock album in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/columns\/chart-beat\/6320099\/billboard-200-makeover-streams-digital-tracks\">multi-metric consumption<\/a>, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new\u00a0April 7-dated chart (where\u00a0<em>Boarding House Reach\u00a0<\/em>debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full on\u00a0<em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s websites on\u00a0Tuesday, April 3.<\/p>\n<p>White previously topped the Billboard 200 with his last two studio sets: 2014\u2019s\u00a0<em>Lazaretto<\/em>\u00a0and 2012\u2019s\u00a0<em>Blunderbuss<\/em>. The former launched at No. 1 with 138,000 copies sold (before the chart transitioned to an equivalent album units-ranked list in late 2014), while the latter bowed also bowed with 138,000. (Both figures are rounded to the nearest thousand; in its debut week,\u00a0<em>Blunderbuss<\/em>\u00a0sold slightly less than\u00a0<em>Lazaretto<\/em>\u2019s opening frame).<\/p>\n<p><em>Boarding House Reach<\/em>\u2019s launch of 121,000 copies sold marks the second-biggest sales week of 2018 for any album, trailing only the bow of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/justin-timberlake\">Justin Timberlake<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Man of the Woods<\/em>, with 242,000 sold in the week ending Feb. 8.\u00a0<em>Boarding<\/em>\u00a0nets the biggest sales frame for a rock album since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/u2\">U2<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Songs of Experience<\/em>\u00a0(180,000 in the week ending Dec. 7, 2017).<\/p>\n<p>White\u2019s debut, the only new arrival in the top 10, was boosted by sales generated from a concert ticket\/album sale redemption offer with White\u2019s upcoming U.S. and Canada tour. The trek starts on April 19 in Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>As for White&#8217;s history on the Billboard 200 as part of his former duo,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/the-white-stripes\">The White Stripes<\/a>, the act landed three top 10s in 2003-07, reaching a No. 2 high with 2007&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Icky Thump<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embedded-content embedded-content--readmore is-embed-initialized\" data-nid=\"8094374\" data-nodetype=\"article\" data-template=\"readmore\" data-amp-enabled=\"1\">\n<p>In addition,\u00a0<em>Boarding House Reach<\/em>\u00a0racked up a big sales figure from its vinyl LP: 27,000. The handsome performance was expected,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/news\/8023329\/jack-white-interview-making-vinyl\">considering how White is a champion of the format<\/a>. The album\u2019s vinyl sales represent the fourth-largest week for a vinyl set since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991.<\/p>\n<p>At No. 2 on the Billboard 200, XXXTentacion\u2019s\u00a0<em>?<\/em>\u00a0falls a spot in its second week, with 76,000 units (down 42 percent).\u00a0<em>Black Panther: The Album<\/em>\u00a0is steady at No. 3 with 48,000 units (down 10 percent) and\u00a0<em>The Greatest Showman<\/em>\u00a0soundtrack climbs 6-4 with 47,000 units (up 15 percent) following its digital home video release on March 20.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/migos\">Migos<\/a>\u2019\u00a0<em>Culture II<\/em>\u00a0is a non-mover at No. 5 with 45,000 units (down less than 1 percent), Logic\u2019s\u00a0<em>Bobby Tarantino II<\/em>\u00a0falls 4-6 with 33,000 units (down 30 percent) and Post Malone\u2019s\u00a0<em>Stoney<\/em>\u00a0rises 10-7 with 29,000 units (down 2 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the top 10:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/ed-sheeran\">Ed Sheeran<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>\u00f7<\/em>\u00a0(<em>Divide<\/em>) is stationary at No. 8 with 29,000 units (down 6 percent),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/imagine-dragons\">Imagine Dragons<\/a>\u2019\u00a0<em>Evolve<\/em>\u00a0returns to the top 10 with a three position rise to No. 9 with 25,000 units (down less than 1 percent) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/camila-cabello\">Camila Cabello<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Camila<\/em>\u00a0ascends 13-10 with 23,000 units (down 2 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Source billboard.com<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-964\" data-postid=\"964\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-964 themify_builder themify_builder_front\">\r\n\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<!-- \/themify_builder_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>White&#8217;s third No. 1, following &#8216;Lazaretto&#8217; and &#8216;Blunderbuss,&#8217; starts with the biggest sales week for a rock album in 2018.
