That\u2019s the second-biggest week of 2018, trailing only the arrival of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/justin-timberlake\">Justin Timberlake<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Man of the Woods<\/em>, which bowed with 293,000 units on the Feb. 17-dated chart.<\/p>\n<p>Of\u00a0<em>Invasion<\/em>\u2019s total unit bow, 103,000 were in traditional album sales &#8212; the biggest sales week for an R&amp;B or hip-hop album in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/columns\/chart-beat\/6320099\/billboard-200-makeover-streams-digital-tracks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multi-metric consumption<\/a>, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new\u00a0April 21-dated chart (where Cardi B debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full on\u00a0<em>Billboard<\/em>&#8216;s websites on\u00a0Tuesday, April 17.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some of the stellar feats that Cardi B achieves with\u00a0<em>Invasion of Privacy<\/em>\u2019s debut at No. 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8212;\u00a0<strong>Cardi B becomes the fifth female rapper to top the Billboard 200 albums chart.<\/strong>\u00a0She follows\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/nicki-minaj\">Nicki Minaj<\/a>\u00a0(with\u00a0<em>Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded<\/em>\u00a0in 2012 and\u00a0<em>Pink Friday<\/em>\u00a0in 2011),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/eve\">Eve<\/a>\u00a0(<em>Let There Be Eve\u2026\u00a0Ruff Ryders&#8217;\u00a0First Lady<\/em>, 1999),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/foxy-brown\">Foxy Brown<\/a>\u00a0(<em>Chyna Doll<\/em>\u00a0in 1999 and the collaborative album\u00a0<em>The Firm<\/em>\u00a0in 1997, with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/nas\">Nas<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/az\">AZ<\/a>\u00a0and Nature) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/lauryn-hill\">Lauryn Hill<\/a>\u00a0(<em>The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill<\/em>, 1998).<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;\u00a0<strong><em>Invasion of Privacy<\/em>\u00a0bows with the largest on-demand audio streaming week ever for an album by a woman.<\/strong>\u00a0<em>Invasion<\/em>\u00a0launches with 255,000 equivalent album units overall, and of that sum, 135,000 were in SEA units. That translates to 202.6 million streams of the tracks on the album during its debut frame.\u00a0<em>Invasion<\/em>\u00a0easily bests the previous record-holder,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/beyonce\">Beyonc\u00e9<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Lemonade<\/em>, which launched with 77,000 SEA units (115.2 million streams) on the May 14, 2016-dated chart.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;\u00a0<strong><em>Invasion\u00a0<\/em>logs the biggest streaming week for a debut studio album<\/strong>, trumping the arrival of Lil Uzi Vert\u2019s\u00a0<em>Luv Is Rage 2<\/em>, which bowed with 100,000 SEA units (150.6 million streams) on the Sept 16, 2017-dated list.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;\u00a0<strong>Second-biggest streaming week for an album in 2018<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>Invasion<\/em>\u00a0nabs the second-largest streaming week for an album this year, behind only the debut of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/migos\">Migos<\/a>\u2019\u00a0<em>Culture II<\/em>\u00a0(149,000 SEA units; 224.6 million on-demand audio streams).<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;\u00a0<strong>Seventh-largest streaming week for an album ever<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>Invasion<\/em>\u2019s big streaming start marks the seventh-largest streaming week for an album, and the fifth biggest debut ever.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/drake\">Drake<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>More Life<\/em>\u00a0continues to hold the record for the largest streaming frame overall, when it claimed 257,000 SEA units in its opening frame (chart dated April 8, 2017), equaling 384.8 million on-demand audio streams.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;\u00a0<strong><em>Invasion<\/em>\u2019s start of 255,000 units is the second-biggest week\u00a0<em>overall<\/em>\u00a0for an album in 2018<\/strong>, trailing only the bow of Timberlake\u2019s\u00a0<em>Man of the Woods<\/em>\u00a0(293,000 units). Further,\u00a0<em>Invasion<\/em>\u00a0notches the largest week for an R&amp;B or hip-hop album since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/eminem\">Eminem<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Revival<\/em>\u00a0started with 267,000 units in the tracking week ending Dec. 21, 2017; and the biggest week for an R&amp;B or hip-hop album\u00a0<em>by a woman<\/em>\u00a0since Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s\u00a0<em>Lemonade<\/em>\u00a0tallied 321,000 units in its second week on the list (May 21, 2016-dated chart).<\/p>\n<p><em>Invasion<\/em>\u2019s solid album sales figure of 103,000 is notable, considering many hip-hop albums by newer artists tend to be largely driven by streams and have relatively little album sales. Invasion has the largest sales week for an R&amp;B or hip-hop album since Eminem\u2019s\u00a0<em>Revival<\/em>\u00a0bowed with 197,000 copies sold.<\/p>\n<p>Further,\u00a0<em>Invasion<\/em>\u00a0was only available to purchase as a digital album. It\u2019s the fifth album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2018 that was initially only available as a digital download and via streaming services (following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/the-weeknd\">The Weeknd<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>My Dear Melancholy<\/em>, XXXTENTACION\u2019s\u00a0<em>?<\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/logic\">Logic<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Bobby Tarantino II\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/migos\">Migos<\/a>\u2019\u00a0<em>Culture II<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars scores its second top 10, and highest-charting album ever, as\u00a0<em>America<\/em>\u00a0debuts with 62,000 units. It surpasses the band\u2019s previous high, logged when\u00a0<em>Love Lust Faith + Dreams<\/em>debuted and peaked at No. 6 in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Of\u00a0<em>America<\/em>\u2019s starting unit total, 54,000 were in traditional album sales &#8212; the act\u2019s second-largest sales week ever. Its only bigger week was logged by the 69,000 start of\u00a0<em>This Is War<\/em>\u00a0in 2009. (<em>America<\/em>\u2019s sales bow was enhanced by sales generated from a concert ticket\/album sale redemption offer with the band\u2019s upcoming tour, which starts on June 6.)<\/p>\n<p>The Weeknd\u2019s\u00a0<em>My Dear Melancholy<\/em>\u00a0slips from No. 1 to No. 3 in its second week, earning 52,000 units (down 69 percent). The soundtrack to\u00a0<em>The Greatest Showman<\/em>climbs one rung to No. 4 with 51,000 units (up 10 percent), following the film\u2019s DVD and Blu-ray release on April 10. XXXTENTACION\u2019s\u00a0<em>?<\/em>\u00a0dips 3-5 with 46,000 units (down 20 percent), Migos\u2019\u00a0<em>Culture II<\/em>\u00a0is up a spot to No. 6 with 37,000 units (down 9 percent) and\u00a0<em>Black Panther: The Album<\/em>\u00a0falls a slot to No. 7 with nearly 37,000 units (down 15 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Rich The Kid\u2019s\u00a0<em>The World Is Yours<\/em>\u00a0tumbles 2-8 in its second week, earning 36,000 units (down 38 percent), while Post Malone\u2019s\u00a0<em>Stoney<\/em>\u00a0shifts 8-9 with 29,000 units (down less than 1 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Closing out the top 10 is rapper\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/lil-xan\">Lil Xan<\/a>, as he bows at No. 10 with his debut album,\u00a0<em>Total Xanarchy<\/em>. The set tallied 28,000 units in its opening frame, of which 14,000 were in traditional album sales.
