Swift scores her 16th leader, dethroning Ella Langley’s record 24-week chart-topper, “Choosin’ Texas.”

Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” bounds in at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her 16th career leader.

The song stops the record reign of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” which has run up an unprecedented 24 weeks atop the Hot 100 since February.

“Patient Zero” is one of four new songs on the deluxe version, released Sept. 25, of Swift’s 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl, dubbed The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. The set (all versions combined) surges back to No. 1 for a 13th week atop the Billboard 200 chart while its three other new tracks launch in the Hot 100’s top five: “Cleveland!,” “Babylon” and “Pink Clouding,” at Nos. 3, 4 and 5, respectively.

Swift boasts the third-most No. 1s in the Hot 100’s history, trailing only The Beatles’ 20 and Mariah Carey’s 19.

“Patient Zero” is also Swift’s 10th career No. 1 Hot 100 debut — tying her with Drake for the most.

Now up to 74 career Hot 100 top 10s, Swift continues to have the most among women. She has the second-most overall, after Drake’s 90.

Meanwhile, The Life of a Showgirl now houses 14 Hot 100 top 10s, including its original and deluxe versions — breaking out of a tie for the most ever from an album.

The album debuted atop the chart dated Oct. 18, 2025, and notched its last week at No. 1 on the Jan. 10, 2026-dated ranking. On Sept. 25, Swift dropped a deluxe edition of the album dubbed The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, adding the new cuts “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon.” “Patient Zero” also serves as the focus track of the reissue, and its official music video premiered during the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 27, introduced by Swift on the live broadcast.

The Life of a Showgirl earned 173,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Oct. 1, according to Luminate — up 619% as compared to the previous week, when it tallied 21,000 units. About 78% of the album’s units were driven by streaming activity, largely from the four new songs.

The nine-month gap between weeks at No. 1 for The Life of a Showgirl is the longest for an album since only earlier this year. On the Feb. 28-dated chart, Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS hopped 2-1, for a fifth nonconsecutive week on the list, and for its first week at No. 1 in nine months and two weeks. Before that week, it was last No. 1 on the May 17, 2025, chart.

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” rewrites the record for the longest run ever achieved atop the Billboard Hot 100 as it scores a 23rd week at No. 1. The smash one-ups the command of Mariah Carey’s perennial “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has topped the chart each Yuletide season since the classic 1994 carol first led.

“Choosin’ Texas” debuted on the Hot 100 dated Nov. 1, 2025, as Langley’s fifth career entry on the chart. It became her first top 10 in January and initially led in February, on its way to setting multiple chart records.

“It feels surreal,” Langley told Billboard News earlier this year of the song’s impact. “I think this has been the biggest moment for me, where I’ve seen where fans can change your career. For so long, you’re like, ‘Alright, one song at a time, one record at a time.’ But with this one song — and they’ve done it continuously for me — but really with ‘Choosin’ Texas’ … man, have they taken ahold of it. It’s wild.”

As for what has helped the song connect so strongly? “I don’t know. I really don’t,” said Langley, who co-penned it with Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor. “Those of us that wrote it, we talk about that. We love this song. I don’t know if it’s because it’s an honest point of view … but I hear a lot of honest songs all the time, so I don’t know. I tried to add some groove into this record, big singing choruses and big melodic guitar licks that you can remember. I don’t know if it feels nostalgic or sounds like something they hadn’t heard before.”

It’s the first R&B album by a woman to top the chart this year.

Jhené Aiko achieves her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart as Westside Whimsy debuts atop the tally dated Sept. 26.

The set earned 74,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Sept. 17, according to Luminate. It’s the first R&B album by a woman to lead the chart in 2026, and the first to rank at No. 1 since SZA’s SOS was tops for a 13th and final week in May of 2025. The only other R&B set to hit No. 1 in 2026 was Bruno Mars’ The Romantic (March 14 chart). (R&B albums are defined as those that are eligible for, or have charted on, Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.)

Westside Whimsy was released on Sept. 11, after it was announced on Sept. 8. The project boasts collaborations with Ab-Soul, Larry June, Kendrick Lamar, Ohma and Tyga.

Westside Whimsy marks the singer-songwriter’s sixth top 10 overall on the Billboard 200, dating to her first chart entry and top 10, Sail Out, which debuted and peaked at No. 8 in November 2013. Aiko went 12 years and 10 months from her debut with Sail Out (Nov. 30, 2013-dated chart) until her first leader. Earlier this year, Megadeth landed its first No. 1 with its self-titled set — nearly 40 years after the metal act’s chart debut in 1986.

The last soloist to wait longer for a first No. 1 was Andrea Bocelli in 2018: a little more than 20 years for his first leader, Sì. The last woman to wait longer than Aiko was Solange: 13 years and eight months between her chart debut in February 2003 and her first leader with A Seat at the Table in October 2016.

As for the rest of the top 10 on the latest Billboard 200, it’s a quiet week, as Westside Whimsy is the only debuting title in the region. Beyoncé’s B’Day returns to the Billboard 200 for the first time since 2008, as the set re-enters the chart at No. 8 following its 20th anniversary deluxe reissue. The album was originally released in 2006, debuted at No. 1 and marked the superstar’s second leader.

In the latest tracking week, B’Day earned 38,000 equivalent album units (up 385%). Of Don’t Look Down’s 99,000 first-week equivalent album units, SEA units comprise 90,000 (equaling 95.07 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs — it debuts at No. 1 on the Top Streaming Albums chart), album sales comprise 9,000 (it debuts at No. 13 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum.

The album was released as a 20-track standard, widely available CD and vinyl LP, alongside an expanded 24-track digital download and streaming edition. For its physical release, it was issued across six vinyl variants (including two signed editions) and two CD variants (one signed).

Don’t Look Down was preceded by a trio of top 40-charted titles on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart: “Hustle” (No. 13 peak in August), “Piece of Your Love” (No. 24 in July) and “Feed the Streets” (No. 33 in February).

Don’t Look Down marks the singer-rapper’s eighth top 10-charted project on the Billboard 200, comprising the entirety of his charted titles. His first top 10 came with Ghetto Gospel in 2019, peaking at No. 10 that November.

At No. 2 on the Billboard 200, Alex Warren notches his highest-charted album as his second full-length studio album, WILDCHILD, debuts with 75,000 equivalent album units earned — his best week ever by units. Of that sum, album sales comprise 55,000 (his best sales week — it debuts at No. 1 on Top Album Sales), SEA units comprise 20,000 (equaling 20.74 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs; it debuts at No. 25 on Top Streaming Albums) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum.

Warren previously hit the top 10 with his debut effort, You’ll Be Alright, Kid, which peaked at No. 5 in August 2025.

The new album’s first-week sales were bolstered by its availability across 13 vinyl variants (two of them signed), five CD variants (two signed), three download editions (two with bonus tracks) and a cassette.

WILDCHILD was preceded by three charted songs on the Billboard Hot 100: “Passenger” (No. 100 in June), “Fine Place To Die” (No. 87 in May) and the radio-promoted single “Fever Dream” (No. 21 in March).

Four former No. 1s follow Warren on the latest Billboard 200. Ella Langley’s Dandelion dips 2-3 (a little more than 67,000 equivalent album units earned, down 3%); Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love falls 3-4 (67,000, down less than 1%); Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem slips 4-5 (60,000, down 4%); and Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide rises 7-6 (53,000, down 1%).

Dolly Parton’s Ultimate Dolly Parton falls two spots to No. 7, after reentering at a new peak of No. 5 a week ago following her death on Aug. 25. In the most recent tracking week, the set earned 45,000 equivalent album units (down 23%).

Drake’s former No. 1 ICEMAN rises 9-8 with 39,000 equivalent album units (down 5%); Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving steps 12-9 with 38,000 units (down 3%); and Karol G’s No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto rebounds to the top 10, climbing 16-10 with 36,000 units (up 7%). The latter is benefitting from its track “BbY WOW,” with rusowsky and Judeline. The song surged 34-16 on the Streaming Songs chart dated Sept. 5.

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” achieves a landmark 20th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — claiming the sole longest run ever atop the chart for a non-holiday song. The smash first led in February, has already set multiple chart records and is just the second title in the Hot 100’s 68-year history to lead for at least 20 weeks.

The only song in the way of the run of “Choosin’ Texas” historically, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has ruled the Hot 100 each Yuletide season since the 1994 carol was first No. 1 in 2019, and could add to its total in the holidays ahead.

“We loved the song when we wrote it, but none of us thought that it would be the song to do everything it’s doing,” Langley told Billboard earlier this year of “Choosin’ Texas,” which she cowrote with Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor. “It keeps giving us a reason to celebrate new ­milestones.”

KATSEYE lands its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as WILD debuts atop the list (dated Aug. 29). The set earned 170,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Aug. 20, according to Luminate. WILD marks the group’s second top 10-charted effort, following the No. 4-peaking Beautiful Chaos in 2025.

WILD is the fourth No. 1 album by an all-woman group this decade. It follows TWICE’s With YOU-th (2025), NewJeans’ 2nd EP ‘Get Up’ (2023) and BLACKPINK’s Born Pink (2022). Before Born Pink, the last No. 1 album by an all-woman group was Danity Kane’s Welcome to the Dollhouse in 2008.

WILD also lands KATSEYE its biggest week by equivalent album units earned, and by pure album sales (145,000). Further, WILD tallies the largest week by units for an all-woman group since the Billboard 200 began ranking by units in December 2015. WILD additionally has the largest pure album sales week for an all-woman group in more than three years, since TWICE’s Ready To Be: 12th Mini Album debuted with 146,000 (March 25, 2023).

Also in the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200, Phoebe Bridgers gets her first top 10 as Lost Weekend bows at No. 2 with both her biggest week ever by units and by pure album sales.

WILD was preceded by a pair of Billboard Hot 100-charting cuts: “Pinky Up” (No. 28 peak in April) and “Animal” (No. 24 on the Aug. 8 chart).

Phoebe Bridgers collects her first top 10-charted set as Lost Weekend debuts at No. 2 with 118,000 equivalent album units earned — the singer-songwriter’s best week ever by units. Of that sum, traditional album sales comprise 77,000 (her largest sales week; it debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales), SEA units comprise 41,000 (equaling 41.6 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs, it debuts at No. 7 on Top Streaming Albums) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum. Lost Weekend is Bridgers’ first solo studio album since 2020’s Punisher. In the years since, she formed the supergroup Boygenius with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. The trio released The Record in 2023, which reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

The Nos. 3-9 titles on the latest Billboard 200 are all former No. 1s. Stray Kids’ THIS & THAT falls 1-3 in its second week, earning 82,000 equivalent album units (down 78%). Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love dips 3-4 (70,000, down 3%); Ella Langley’s Dandelion descends 4-5 (nearly 70,000, down 1%); Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem shifts down 5-6 (67,000, down 5%); Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide falls 6-7 (56,000, up less than 1%); Ariana Grande’s Petal slides 2-8 (51,000, down 38%); and Drake’s ICEMAN is a non-mover at No. 9 (43,000, down 5%).

Stray Kids land their ninth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart as THIS & THAT debuts atop the list dated Aug. 22. The set earned 369,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Aug. 13, according to Luminate, marking the group’s biggest week by units. Of that sum, traditional album sales comprise 357,000, landing the act its best sales week ever.

All nine of the group’s Billboard 200 chart entries have debuted at No. 1, beginning with ODDINARY in 2022. In 2024, when HOP launched at No. 1, Stray Kids became the first act to debut its first six entries all at No. 1. They have since extended that record to nine with the arrival of THIS & THAT. The Billboard 200 began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in March 1956.

With a ninth No. 1, Stray Kids extend their record for the most No. 1s among groups this century (since 2000). Further, the act ties The Rolling Stones for the second-most No. 1s on the Billboard 200 among groups. The Beatles lead all acts with 19 No. 1s.

Ariana Grande’s petal falls to No. 2 after debuting at No. 1 a week ago. It earned 82,000 equivalent album units in its second week (down 72%). Pooh Shiesty gets his second top 10 on the Billboard 200 as All Eyes on Shiest starts at No. 7. The rapper released the project while in jail, awaiting trial on robbery and kidnapping charges.
