Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ First Video to Hit 3 Billion Views on YouTube

After setting a record for most-viewed video in YouTube history on Friday (Aug. 3), Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito” tackled yet another record that same day: becoming the first YouTube video to reach 3 billion views.

The video, shot in Spanish and without Justin Bieber‘s additional verses, was first posted on Jan. 12 of this year.

“What an honor.. most viewed video in history and first video to reach 3 billion views… y EN ESPAÑOL!!” Fonsi captioned a celebratory video on Instagram. “Thank you to everybody involved @daddyyankee@zuleykarivera @elasticpeople Thank you, the fans for celebrating this song with us y gracias Puerto Rico por ser el escenario más hermoso del mundo. Que viva la música latina.”

‘Despacito’ Ties for Longest-Leading Hot 100 No. 1 of 2017 With 12th Week on Top

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s collab, featuring Justin Bieber, also ties for the most weeks (13) spent atop the Digital Song Sales chart.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, matches the longest command of the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017, logging a 12th week at No. 1 on the chart dated Aug. 12. The song matches the 12-week reign of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” from January through April.

“Despacito” also equals the record for the most weeks (13) logged atop the Digital Song Sales charts.

Let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre streaming, airplay and sales data. Charts will post to Billboard.com later on Aug. 2.

As reported earlier, the release of Billboard‘s Aug. 12-dated charts were delayed. A top-tier data provider encountered technical issues, initially preventing the delivery of its data to Nielsen Music (which provides the sales, streaming and airplay information for Billboard‘s charts). However, the provider was ultimately able to resolve the issue, and deliver the missing information to Nielsen Music. Billboard‘s charts were then completed using the data.

“Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) becomes one of just 19 singles to have topped the Hot 100 for at least 12 weeks, dating to the chart’s Aug. 4, 1958, inception. No song has led longer since Mark Ronson‘s “Uptown Funk!,” featuring Bruno Mars, reigned for 14 weeks in 2015; that single and six others are second only to Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men‘s “One Sweet Day,” which ruled for 16 weeks in 1995-96.

Among those 14-week leaders are Los Del Rio’s “Macarena,” which, in 1996, sparked by its Bayside Boys remix, set the record for the longest command by a primarily non-English language single, a mark that “Despacito” is now two weeks from tying.

“Despacito” dominates the Digital Song Sales chart for a record-tying 13th week, with 102,000 downloads sold (down 13 percent) in the week ending July 27, according to Nielsen Music; the remix with Bieber accounts for 77 percent of the song’s sales for a third consecutive week (in line with its breakdown in prior weeks). “Despacito” equals the 13-week Digital Song Sales reigns of The Chainsmokers‘ “Closer,” featuring Halsey (2016); “Uptown Funk!” (2015); and Flo Rida‘s “Low,” featuring T-Pain (2007-08).

Additionally, “Despacito” has sold more than 100,000 downloads in each of the last 12 weeks, marking the longest such streak since OMI’s “Cheerleader” broke the 100,000-sold barrier for 12 weeks in a row in 2015.

On the Streaming Songs chart, “Despacito” leads for a 12th week, with 52.9 million U.S. streams (down 8 percent) in the week ending July 27. The track tops all three of the Hot 100’s main component charts simultaneously for a fourth week, as it leads the all-format Radio Songs chart for a fourth frame with 142 million in all-format airplay audience (down 2 percent) in the week ending July 30. (Sheeran’s “Shape” last linked four weeks in a row at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, Digital Song Sales and Radio Songs simultaneously, in March and April.)

“Despacito” further makes it an even six months atop the Hot Latin Songs chart (26 weeks), while leading the Songs of the Summer survey for a ninth week, having led the latter list each week since it made its annual return just after Memorial Day.

DJ Khaled‘s “Wild Thoughts,” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, keeps at its No. 2 Hot 100 high. It holds at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (35.3 million, down 1 percent); lifts 5-3 on Radio Songs (117 million, up 10 percent); and stays at No. 8 on Digital Song Sales (36,000, down 9 percent). “Thoughts” crowns the Hot R&B Songs chart for a fourth week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a third frame.

As for the gap in Hot 100 chart points between “Despacito” and “Wild Thoughts,” the former boasts a sizable 1.59-to-1 lead, although it’s down 8 percent in overall activity while the latter is essentially even week-over-week. (A week ago, “Despacito” held a 1.73-to-1 points advantage.)

Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” repeats at No. 3 on the Hot 100, after topping the May 13-dated chart. Notably, the song ties for fifth place for the longest stay ever in the top five, matching Chubby Checker‘s “The Twist,” the Hot 100’s all-time top title):

DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, holds at No. 4 on the Hot 100, after debuting atop the May 20-dated chart. It rules Hot Rap Songs for a 13th week.

Imagine Dragons‘ “Believer” becomes the first rock song to reach the Hot 100’s top five in 2017, rising 7-5. It holds at No. 6 on Radio Songs (106 million, up 5 percent) and climbs 11-7 on Digital Song Sales (41,000, on par with its prior-week total) and 15-14 on Streaming Songs (17.9 million, also essentially even). “Believer,” which rules the Hot Rock Songs chart for a 21st week, is the first rock track (defined as a title that has appeared on Hot Rock Songs) to hit the Hot 100’s top five since twenty one pilots’ No. 2 Hot 100 “Heathens” (Dec. 3, 2016).

French Montana‘s “Unforgettable,” featuring Swae Lee, drops to No. 6 from its No. 5 Hot 100 peak; Sheeran’s “Shape” slips 6-7; Shawn Mendes‘ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” is stationary at its No. 8 high; and Charlie Puth‘s “Attention” ascends 10-9, hitting a new peak, while becoming his second top 10 on Radio Songs (13-8; 95 million, up 22 percent, good for the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award).

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top 10, Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like a Back Road” retreats 9-10 after reaching No. 6. On the Hot Country Songs chart, “Back Road” rewrites history: it leads for a record-breaking 25th week, surpassing the rule of Florida Georgia Line‘s “Cruise” in 2012-13.

Beyond the Hot 100’s top 10, two songs by One Direction members hit new highs in the top 20: Liam Payne‘s “Strip That Down,” featuring Quavo, reaches the region (25-16) and Niall Horan‘s “Slow Hands” pushes 19-18. Meanwhile, 1D’s Louis Tomlinson logs the chart’s highest debut, as “Back to You,” featuring Bebe Rexhaand Digital Farm Animals, begins at No. 40. As the song is Tomlinson’s first top 40 hit, all five (current and former) members of One Direction have now earned top 40 Hot 100 hits.

Lana Del Rey Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart, Tyler, The Creator and Meek Mill Bow at Nos. 2 & 3

Plus, Linkin Park’s ‘One More Light’ leaps 17-4 and ‘Hybrid Theory’ bounds 27-8, and top 10 debuts for the ‘Descendants 2’ soundtrack and Romeo Santos.

Lana Del Rey scores her second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as Lust for Life bows atop the Aug. 12-dated tally. The set, which was released on July 21 through Polydor/Interscope Records, earned 107,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 27, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 80,000 were in traditional album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Aug. 12-dated chart (where Del Rey debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard’s websites later in the day on Aug. 2.

Following closely behind Del Rey are Tyler, The Creator’s Flower Boy and Meek Mill’s Wins and Losses, as they debut at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. Flower Boy earned 106,000 units (with 70,000 in album sales), while Wins and Losses tallied 102,000 units (with 37,000 in album sales). Industry forecasters expected a close race among the three albums, with any of them potentially finishing on top. All three albums actually performed better than expected.

As earlier reported, the release of Billboard‘s Aug. 12-dated charts were delayed. A top-tier data provider encountered technical issues, initially preventing the delivery of its data to Nielsen Music (which provides the sales, streaming and airplay information for Billboard‘s charts). However, the provider was ultimately able to resolve the issue, and deliver the missing information to Nielsen Music. Billboard‘s charts were then completed using the data.

With the entire top three debuting titles, it’s only the second time in 2017 that the top three are all new arrivals. It previously happened on the Feb. 18-dated chart, when Migos’ Culture, Brantley Gilbert’s The Devil Don’t Sleep and Kehlani’s SweetSexySavage bowed at Nos. 1-3, respectively.

Further, this week marks the first time in 2017 where the top three albums are debuts that each earned more than 100,000 units. It last occurred on the Dec. 10, 2016-dated list, when Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct debuted at No. 1 with 291,000 units, followed by Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic at No. 2 (231,000) and Miranda Lambert’s The Weight of These Wings at No. 3 (133,000).

Del Rey previously led the list with her second full-length studio album, Ultraviolence, which premiered atop the chart in 2014. Overall, Lust for Life is Del Rey’s fifth top 10-charting album — the singer/songwriter also visited the region with her full-length debut, Born to Die (No. 2 in 2012), the Paradise EP (No. 10, 2012) and her previous studio set, Honeymoon (No. 2, 2015). Honeymoon launched with 116,000 units (of which 105,000 were in traditional album sales).

Lust for Life is the second No. 1 for Interscope Records in 2017, following Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN., which ruled for three weeks in May.

As for Tyler, The Creator, Flower Boy is his highest charting album yet, and fourth top 10 set overall. It follows 2015’s Cherry Bomb (which debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 58,000 units – of which 51,000 were album sales), 2013’s Wolf (No. 3) and 2011’s Goblin (No. 5).

Meanwhile, Meek Mill’s latest effort lands the rapper his fourth top 10 album. He first hit the top 10 with Dreams and Nightmares (No. 2 in 2012) and followed with the chart-topping Dreams Worth More Than Money (2015) and last year’s DC4 (No. 3 debut and peak). The latter set started with 87,000 units (of which 45,000 were in traditional album sales).

Back on the new Billboard 200, Linkin Park’s One More Light, which debuted at No. 1 on the June 10-dated list, surges from No. 17 to No. 4 with 50,000 units (up 122 percent). The album sold 32,000 copies (up 76 percent). It’s the first of two Linkin Park albums in the top 10, as the band’s debut effort Hybrid Theory climbs from No. 27 to No. 8 with 41,000 units (up 177 percent) and 19,000 copies sold (up 141 percent). Both albums rise following the first full tracking week of activity after the death of the group’s singer Chester Bennington, on July 20.

Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. falls out of the top three for the first time in its 15 weeks on the chart, as it slips from No. 2 to No. 5 with 48,000 units (down 13 percent).

The Descendants 2 soundtrack starts at No. 6 with 46,000 units (35,000 in traditional album sales). Descendants 2 is the companion album to the Disney Channel TV movie of the same name, which premiered on the network on July 21. The film and album follow the 2015 TV movie Descendants and its chart-topping soundtrack (42,000 units earned in its first week, of which 30,000 were in traditional album sales).

Descendants 2 is the 11th soundtrack to visit the top 10 in 2017 – including four titles that initially reached the region in 2016 or earlier (Suicide Squad: The Album, Trolls, Moana and Purple Rain). Comparatively, in all of 2016, there were six soundtracks that were in the top 10.

Descendants 2 was released on Walt Disney Records, and is Disney Music Group’s fourth top 10-charting soundtrack in 2017, following Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 (No. 4), the 2017 soundtrack to Beauty and the Beast (No. 3) and Moana (No. 2).

After two weeks atop the Billboard 200, JAY-Z’s 4:44 falls from No. 1 to No. 7 in its third week on the list, with 45,000 units (down 48 percent).

DJ Khaled’s Grateful, which spent two weeks atop the chart, falls 4-9 in its fifth week on the list, earning a little more than 36,000 units (down 15 percent).

Closing out the top 10 is the fifth and final debut in the region: Romeo Santos’ Golden, which launches at No. 10 with 36,000 units (26,000 in album sales). It’s the first album by a Latin artist to reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200 in more than three years. Santana’s Corazon was the last Latin album by an artist to visit the top 10, as it spent one week in the region, debuting and peaking at No. 9 on the May 24, 2014-dated tally.

Golden is the third top 10 effort for Santos, after Formula: Vol. 2, which hit No. 4 in March of 2014; and Formula: Vol. 1, which reached No. 9 in 2011.

“Numb” is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. It was released as the third single from their second studio album, Meteora (2003), and is the thirteenth and final track on the album. One of Linkin Park’s most well-known and critically acclaimed songs, “Numb” topped the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart for 12 weeks. The song spent six weeks at the top of the chart in 2003 and six weeks in 2004. The song also spent three weeks atop the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song was remixed as “Numb/Encore”, a collaboration between the band and rapper Jay-Z. It was a massive hit for both artists which was featured on the album Collision Course and earned them the Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. “Numb” was ranked number 95 on Rhapsody’s list of the “Top 100 Tracks of the Decade”.

‘Despacito’ Tops Billboard Hot 100 for 11th Week, Charlie Puth Hits Top 10

As we do each Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre streaming, airplay and sales data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (July 25), as they do every Tuesday.

Additionally, “Despacito” has sold more than 100,000 downloads in each of the last 11 weeks, marking the longest such streak since Adele‘s “Hello” broke the 100,000-sold barrier for 11 weeks in a row in 2015-16 (with its first frame featuring a weekly-record 1.1 million downloads sold).

On the Streaming Songs chart, “Despacito” leads for an 11th week, with 57.6 million U.S. streams (down 4 percent) in the week ending July 20. The track again tops all three of the Hot 100’s main component charts, as it also leads the all-format Radio Songs chart for a third week with 145 million in all-format airplay audience (down 1 percent) in the week ending July 23.

As for its continued pop radio crossover, “Despacito” leads the mainstream top 40-based Pop Songs airplay chart for a third week; bullets at its No. 12 high on Adult Pop Songs; and debuts at No. 30 on Adult Contemporary.

“Despacito” also dominates the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 25th week and the Songs of the Summer ranking for an eighth week, having led the latter tally each week since it made its annual return just after Memorial Day.

DJ Khaled‘s “Wild Thoughts,” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, holds at its No. 2 Hot 100 high. It keeps at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (35.5 million, down 5 percent); pushes 8-5 on Radio Songs (107 million, up 11 percent; it’s Rihanna’s record-extending 24th top five hit); and rebounds 10-8 on Digital Song Sales (40,000, down 4 percent).

“Thoughts” crowns the Hot R&B Songs chart for a third week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a second frame. It also takes over atop the Rhythmic Songs airplay chart (4-1), where it’s Tiller’s first No. 1, Khaled’s fourth and Rihanna’s 15th (a sum second only to Drake‘s 19 in the list’s nearly 25-year history).

Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” reverses course, rising 4-3 on the Hot 100, after topping the May 13-dated chart. It swaps spots with Khaled’s “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne (3-4); “One” debuted atop the May 20-dated Hot 100. It leads Hot Rap Songs for a 12th week.

French Montana‘s “Unforgettable,” featuring Swae Lee, surges to the Hot 100’s top five (9-5), marking French Montana’s highest-charting hit; he first reached a No. 9 peak as featured on Chris Brown‘s “Loyal” in 2014. (Swae Lee earns his first Hot 100 top five as a soloist; as half of Rae Sremmurd, he led for seven weeks beginning in November 2016 with “Black Beatles,” featuring Gucci Mane.)

“Unforgettable” climbs as parent album Jungle Rules debuts at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The song bounds 7-3 on Streaming Songs (29.7 million, up 14 percent); 27-9 on Digital Song Sales (37,000, up 68 percent, marking the Hot 100’s top digital sales gain); and 19-17 on Radio Songs (67 million, up 8 percent).

Sheeran’s “Shape of You” logs its first week out of the Hot 100’s top five, dropping 5-6 in its 28th week on the chart; it debuted at No. 1 on Jan. 28. The song remains tied with The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” for the most weeks (27 each) spent in the top five in the Hot 100’s history.

Imagine Dragons‘ “Believer” is steady at No. 7 on the Hot 100 (after hitting No. 6), while ruling Hot Rock Songs for a 20th week. Shawn Mendes‘ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” is likewise stationary at its No. 8 Hot 100 high after entering the top 10 a week ago.

Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like a Back Road” rebounds 10-9 on the Hot 100 after reaching No. 6. On the Hot Country Songs chart, the single ties a historic mark: it reigns for a record-tying 24th week, matching the rule of Florida Georgia Line‘s “Cruise” in 2012-13.

Closing out the Hot 100’s top 10, Charlie Puth scores his third top 10, as “Attention” ascends 13-10. Puth first reached the region as featured on Wiz Khalifa‘s “See You Again,” which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 in 2015; as previously reported, the video for “Again” (Puth co-wrote and co-produced the song) just became the most-viewed YouTube clip of all-time. Puth added his second Hot 100 top 10 with “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” featuring Selena Gomez (No. 9, 2016).

“Attention” rises 3-2 on Digital Song Sales (although down 5 percent to 52,000); 16-13 on Radio Songs (78 million, up 17 percent, good for the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award); and 23-20 on Streaming Songs (15.4 million, up 3 percent).

Beyond the Hot 100’s top 10, as projected last week, two notable tracks blast into the top 40 following their first full weeks of tracking: Demi Lovato‘s “Sorry Not Sorry” (52-23) and Selena Gomez’s “Fetish,” featuring Gucci Mane (92-27). JAY-Z’s ‘4:44’ Spends Second Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart, French Montana Debuts at No. 3

As expected, JAY-Z’s 4:44 notches a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The set, which bowedatop the tally a week ago, earned 87,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 20, according to Nielsen Music. That sum is down 67 percent compared to its bow of 262,000.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Aug. 5-dated chart (where JAY-Z holds at No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, July 25.

4:44 sold 61,000 in traditional album sales in its second week (down 65 percent from 173,000). The album was also down in streaming and track equivalencies, falling 72 percent in SEA units (22,000 — down from 82,000) and 52 percent in TEA units (3,000 — down from 7,000).

JAY-Z now has a cumulative total of 25 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Of his 14 No. 1 albums, seven have spent a single week at No. 1, while five have racked up two weeks at No. 1 (including 4:44). Two of his chart-toppers clocked three or more weeks at No. 1: 1998’s Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life (five weeks at No. 1) and 2001’s The Blueprint (three weeks at No. 1).

The only rap act with more weeks at No. 1 in the 61-year history of the chart is Eminem, with 31 total weeks atop the list.

At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 is Kendrick Lamar’s former No. 1, DAMN., which rises one spot in its 14th week on the list (56,000 units, up 3 percent). The album has yet to depart the top three since its debut at No. 1 on the May 6-dated chart.

French Montana earns the only debut in the top 10, as his second studio album, Jungle Rules, bows at No. 3 with 52,000 units (16,000 in traditional album sales). The new set surpasses the peak of his only other charting effort, his debut studio set, Excuse My French, which peaked at No. 4 in its opening frame (June 8, 2013). Excuse My French launched with 56,000 copies sold (before the chart transitioned to a consumption-based tally in late 2014).

Back on the new Billboard 200, DJ Khaled’s former leader Grateful holds at No. 4 with 43,000 units (down 14 percent), 21 Savage’s Issa Album slips 2-5 in its second week with 40,000 units (down 48 percent) and Ed Sheeran’s former No. 1 ÷ (Divide) descends 5-6 with 34,000 units (down 5 percent).

Imagine Dragons’ Evolve moves 6-7 with 33,000 units (down 6 percent) while the Moana soundtrack climbs a rung to No. 8 with a little more than 28,000 units (down 3 percent).

Khalid’s American Teen returns to the top 10 (and its peak rank) after four months, as the set rises 13-9 with 28,000 units (up 6 percent). The album debuted at No. 9 on the March 25-dated list, and then departed the top 10, falling as low as No. 21 on the May 27 chart. American Teen is up in album sales (4,000; up 15 percent), TEA units (4,000; up 8 percent) and SEA units (20,000; up 4 percent). The rise of the album is concurrent with the continued popularity of its single “Location,” which has spent more than four months lodged in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart (having reached No. 16).

Closing out the new Billboard 200’s top 10 is Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, which ascends 11-10 with just under 28,000 units (down 2 percent).

‘Despacito’ Leads Hot 100 for 10th Week, Ed Sheeran Ties Record & Shawn Mendes Hits Top 10

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, leads the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated July 29) for a landmark 10th week. Plus, Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” ties the record for the most weeks logged in the top five and Shawn Mendes adds his third top 10, “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.”

As we do each Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre streaming, airplay and sales data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (July 18), as they do every Tuesday.

“Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) becomes just the 35th single to top the Hot 100 for at least 10 weeks, dating to the chart’s Aug. 4, 1958, inception; only 3 percent of the Hot 100’s 1,065 total No. 1s have reached double-digit weeks at the summit.

(Note that it’s been more common for songs to lead for at least 10 weeks since the Hot 100 adopted Nielsen Music data in late 1991; while before then, only 3 percent of all No. 1s led for that long, since then a loftier 11 percent of all No. 1s have done so, with 33 of the all-time 35 No. 1s to notch at least 10 weeks on top having reigned since 1992.)

“Despacito” is the longest-leading Hot 100 No. 1 since Sheeran’s “Shape,” which ruled for 12 weeks in January through April. The record? Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” led for 16 weeks, in 1995-96.

“Despacito” dominates the Digital Song Sales chart for an 11th week, with 124,000 downloads sold (down 3 percent) in the week ending July 13, according to Nielsen Music; the remix with Bieber accounts for 77 percent of the song’s sales (just off its 78 percent share a week ago and in line with its breakdown in recent weeks). On the Streaming Songs chart, “Despacito” leads for a 10th week, with 60.3 million U.S. streams (down 2 percent) in the week ending July 13.

“Despacito” again tops all three of the Hot 100’s main component charts, as it also leads the all-format Radio Songs chart for a second week with 145 million in all-format airplay audience (down 3 percent) in the week ending July 16. A week ago, the collab made history as the first predominantly Spanish-language song (or any song not sung primarily in English) to top Radio Songs, dating to the chart’s 1990 origin.

“Despacito” commands the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 24th week and the Songs of the Summer ranking for a sixth week, having led the latter list each week since it made its annual return just after Memorial Day.

DJ Khaled‘s “Wild Thoughts,” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, rebounds from No. 4 to a new high of No. 2 on the Hot 100. It keeps at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (37.5 million, down 6 percent); drops 7-10 on Digital Song Sales (42,000, down 13 percent); and bounds 14-8 on Radio Songs (96 million, up 23 percent), boasting the Hot 100’s top airplay gain for a third week. Most notably, Rihanna earns her record-extending 29th Radio Songs top 10, bolstering her lead over Carey (23).

“Thoughts” additionally crowns the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (3-1), where it’s Rihanna’s seventh No. 1, Khaled ‘s third and Tiller’s first. On Hot R&B Songs, “Thoughts” tallies a second nonconsecutive week on top (2-1).

More Khaled: “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, slips 2-3 on the Hot 100; it debuted atop the May 20-dated chart. It leads Hot Rap Songs for an 11th week.

Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” dips 3-4 on the Hot 100; the song topped the May 13-dated chart.

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Sheeran’s former 12-week No. 1 “Shape of You” remains at No. 5, while equaling the record for the most weeks spent in the top five: 27 (encompassing the song’s entire chart life, dating to its entrance at No. 1 on Jan. 28).

At this point in its run, airplay and streaming are driving the majority of the Hot 100 chart points for “Shape,” which ranks at No. 4 on Radio Songs (118 million, down 6 percent) and No. 11 on Streaming Songs (23.9 million, down 5 percent); it led the lists for 12 and four weeks, respectively.

Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble.,” which crowned the May 6-dated Hot 100, holds at No. 6 and Imagine Dragons‘ “Believer” is steady at No. 7 (after hitting No. 6), while ruling Hot Rock Songs for a 19th week;  as previously reported, “Believer” becomes the group’s first No. 1 on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart.

Shawn Mendes scores his third Hot 100 top 10, as “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” charges 14-8. Helped by a 69-cent iTunes Store sale price, plus a new acoustic version (released July 7), “Back” lifts 3-2 on Digital Song Sales (and crowns Pop Digital Song Sales, where it rises 2-1), up 2 percent to 57,000 sold. It also bullets at No. 9 on Radio Songs (94 million, up 9 percent) and roars 40-32 on Streaming Songs (13.6 million, up 15 percent).

Mendes previously hit the Hot 100’s top 10 with “Stitches” (No. 4, 2015) and “Treat You Better” (No. 6, 2016).

French Montana‘s “Unforgettable,” featuring Swae Lee, hits a new peak on the Hot 100 (10-9), tying for French Montana’s highest-charting hit; he first reached No. 9 as featured on Chris Brown‘s “Loyal” in 2014.

Closing out the Hot 100’s top 10, Sam Hunt‘s No. 6-peaking “Body Like a Back Road” shifts into reverse (8-10). “Road” rules Hot Country Songs for a 23rd week, moving to within one week of the record: Florida Georgia Line‘s “Cruise” led for 24 weeks in 2012-13.

Beyond the Hot 100’s top 10, four songs enter the chart in the top 40: JAY-Z’s “The Story of O.J.” (No. 23) and “4:44” (No. 35), both from his album 4:44, the newly-arriving No. 1 on the Billboard 200; Kesha’s “Praying” (No. 25); and 21 Savage‘s “Bank Account” (No. 33), from Issa Album, a debut at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200.

JAY-Z Scores 14th No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘4:44’

The superstar extends his own record for the most No. 1s among soloists.

JAY-Z collects his 14th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as his latest release, 4:44, debuts atop the tally. According to Nielsen Music, in the week ending July 13, the set earned 262,000 equivalent album units — a larger-than-initially-expected sum, and the fourth-largest week of 2017 for any album. Of its total, 174,000 units were in traditional album sales.

4:44’s No. 1 arrival extends JAY-Z’s record as the solo artist with the most No. 1 albums in the 61-year history of the Billboard 200 chart. He distances himself farther ahead of the two acts with the second-most leaders among soloists: Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand, who each have 11 chart-toppers. Among all acts, JAY-Z has the second-most leaders, behind only The Beatles, which have 19 No. 1s.

JAY-Z also furthers his own record as the artist with the most debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as all 14 of his albums have bowed in the top slot. (Springsteen has the second-most No. 1 debuts, with eight.)

4:44 was initially issued on June 30 (via S. Carter Enterprises/Roc Nation) for one week of streaming exclusivity through Tidal. However, Tidal did not report data for the album to Nielsen Music for the week ending July 6, so the album did not debut on the July 22-dated chart. (In addition, by July 2, the album was also offered as a free download — sponsored by Sprint — via the web site 444.tidal.com. The free downloads were ineligible to chart, per Billboard’s current pricing policy.)

Then, on July 7, the album became widely available to most streaming services (but not Spotify, as JAY-Z pulled his catalog from the service in April) and to retailers as both a download and CD (with three bonus tracks).

Overall, 4:44’s launch of 262,000 units grants the album the fourth-largest week of 2017, behind the debuts of Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. (603,000 units), Drake’s More Life (505,000) and Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) (451,000).

Of 4:44’s 174,000 sales in the week ending July 13, the set sold 131,000 as a download and 43,000 on CD.

Despite 4:44’s absence from Spotify, the album still generated the fourth-biggest streaming debut of 2017. Of its total 262,000-unit start, 7,000 were in TEA units, while SEA units represented 82,000 units. The latter sum equals 122.4 million streams of the album’s songs. In terms of streaming debuts in 2017, it trails only Drake’s More Life (257,000 SEA units; 384.8 million song streams), Lamar’s DAMN.(227,000 SEA units; 340.6 million song streams) and Sheeran’s ÷ (90,000 SEA units; 134.6 million song streams).

JAY-Z’s previous album, Magna Carta…Holy Grail, debuted at No. 1 in 2013 with 528,000 copies sold in its first week (before the chart transitioned to a consumption-ranked tally in 2014). Like 4:44, Magna Carta was issued in a unique fashion: it was first released (on July 4, 2013) as a free download to certain Samsung phone and tablet users who had downloaded a JAY-Z-centric app. (One million copies were available for free to fans through the app.) It then became widely available to retailers on July 9.

Every one of JAY-Z’s solo studio albums have reached No. 1 since 1998’s Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life (which was also his first No. 1). His 14 chart-toppers also include three collaborative efforts: one each with R. Kelly (Unfinished Business), Linkin Park(MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups Presents: Collision Course) and Kanye West (Watch the Throne).
