Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Lead Hot 100, Ed Sheeran Sets Record in Top Five

“Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, rules for a third week, while “Shape of You” spends a record 20th week in the top five from its debut.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated June 10) for a third week. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” becomes the first song to spend its first 20 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five.

Plus, Zedd and Alessia Cara‘s “Stay” and The Chainsmokers and Coldplay‘s “Something Just Like This,” each in the top 10, crown pop radio airplay charts.

Let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, May 31.

“Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) leads the Streaming Songs chart for a second week, with 65.4 million U.S. streams (up 10 percent) in the week ending May 25, according to Nielsen Music. It also rules the Digital Song Sales chart for a fourth week, with 137,000 downloads sold (up 19 percent) in the week ending May 25; the remix with Bieber, released April 17, accounts for 77 percent of the song’s sales (up from 73 percent each of the two previous weeks).

On Radio Songs, “Despacito” keeps at No. 7 with 88 million in all-format airplay audience (up 21 percent) in the week ending May 28, adding the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award for a second week. “Despacito,” the first mostly-Spanish language Hot 100 No. 1 in 21 years (its title translates to “slowly” in English), tops the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 17th week.

Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” ranks at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a fourth week after topping the May 13-dated chart. It leads Radio Songs for a fourth week, with 164 million in audience (down 5 percent), and tops Hot R&B Songs for a 15th week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for an eighth frame.

DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, posts a third week at No. 3 after debuting atop the May 20-dated Hot 100. The collab keeps at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (45.5 million, down 1 percent), No. 3 on Digital Song Sales (80,000, up 4 percent) and No. 8 on Radio Songs (79 million, up 15 percent). “One” adds a fourth week at No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.

Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble.” (5-4), which topped May 6-dated Hot 100, and Sheeran’s former 12-week No. 1 “Shape of You” (4-5) swap spots, with the latter making history: “Shape” is the first song to spend its first 20 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five, dating to its debut at No. 1 (Jan. 28). It passes Bieber’s “Sorry,” which ranked in the top five for its first 19 weeks on the chart in 2015-16.

Here’s a look at the songs to log the most time in top Hot 100’s top five from their debuts (all of which peaked at No. 1 except for “Payphone,” which reached No. 2):

20 weeks, “Shape of You,” Ed Sheeran, 2017
19, “Sorry,” Justin Bieber, 2015-16
17, “Payphone,” Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa, 2012
17, “I Gotta Feeling,” The Black Eyed Peas, 2009
17, “One Sweet Day,” Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men, 1995-96
16, “Candle in the Wind”/”Something About the Way You Look Tonight,” Elton John, 1997-98

Future‘s No. 5-peaking “Mask Off” rebounds 7-6 on the Hot 100, while Zedd and Alessia Cara‘s “Stay” returns to its peak (9-7). “Stay” makes the Hot 100’s greatest sales surge, as it vaults 13-5 on Digital Song Sales with a 91 percent hike to 67,000 sold, thanks in part to a both a 69-cent sale price in the iTunes Store and the pair’s performance of the song on the season finale of NBC’s The Voice during the tracking week.

“Stay” adds a second total week at No. 1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (2-1) and bounds 4-1 on the Pop Songs airplay chart. On the latter list, the song marks Zedd’s first No. 1 (after peaking as high as No. 2 with “Clarity,” featuring Foxes, in 2013) and Cara’s third, following “Here” in 2016 and “Scars to Your Beautiful” in February.

The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s No. 3-peaking “Something Just Like This” dips 6-8 on the Hot 100, as The Chainsmokers spend a 56th consecutive week in the top 10, a streak second only to Katy Perry’s 69-week run in 2010-11. “Something” also takes over atop the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart, where it’s each act’s second topper: The Chainsmokers first reigned in 2016 with “Closer,” featuring Halsey, while Coldplay returns to the top after first leading in 2008 with “Viva La Vida,” thus ending a record eight-year and eight-month gap between No. 1s on the survey.

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top 10, Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” drops to No. 9 from its No. 8 high and Kygo and Selena Gomez‘s “It Ain’t Me” returns to the top 10 at its No. 10 peak (12-10).

Just beyond the Hot 100’s top 10, two songs performed on the 2017 Billboard Music Awards advance: Julia Michaels‘ “Issues” hits a new high, jumping 14-11 (passing its prior No. 12 peak), as does Imagine Dragons‘ “Believer,” which bumps 20-15, while leading Hot Rock Songs for a 12th week. Plus, Brett Young‘s “In Case You Didn’t Know” pushes 23-19 on the Hot 100 and becomes his first No. 1 on Country Airplay and Gomez’s “Bad Liar” leaps 80-27 on the Hot 100, drawing 13.5 million U.S. streams and 36,000 sold following its first full week of tracking.

Meanwhile, four songs debut in the 40s on the Hot 100: Liam Payne‘s “Strip That Down,” featuring Quavo, the chart’s top new entry at No. 42; The Voice runner-up Lauren Duski‘s “Deja Vu” (No. 43); Perry’s “Swish Swish,” featuring Nicki Minaj (No. 46 [corrected]); and former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello‘s first unaccompanied solo single, “Crying in the Club” (No. 47).

MUSIC: Enjoy this Tune “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood

In honor of Memorial Day and the soldiers that fight for what we truly stand for…

“God Bless the USA” is an American patriotic song written and recorded by country music artist Lee Greenwood, and is considered to be his signature song. The first album it appears on is 1984’s You’ve Got a Good Love Comin’. It reached No. 7 on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart when originally released in the spring of 1984, and was played at the 1984 Republican National Convention with President Ronald Reagan and first lady Nancy Reagan in attendance, but the song gained greater prominence during the Gulf War in 1990 and 1991, as a way of boosting morale.

The popularity of the song rose sharply after the September 11 attacks and during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and the song was re-released as a single, re-entering the country music charts at No. 16 and peaking at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in 2001. The song was also re-recorded in 2003 and released as “God Bless the USA 2003”. The song also rose up in popularity in May 2011 when Osama bin Laden was killed by an American raid in Pakistan. Greenwood also wrote a Canadian version of this song called “God Bless You Canada”. The song has sold over a million copies in the United States by July 2015.

MUSIC: Enjoy this Tune “The Twist” by Chubby Checker

“The Twist” is an American pop song written and originally released in early 1959 by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters as a B-side to “Teardrops on Your Letter”. Ballard’s version was a moderate 1960 hit, peaking at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Chubby Checker’s 1960 cover version of the song gave birth to the Twist dance craze. His single became a hit, reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 19, 1960, where it stayed for one week, and setting a record as the only song to reach number 1 in two different hit parade runs when it resurfaced and topped the popular hit parade again for two weeks starting on January 13, 1962.

In 1988, “The Twist” again became popular due to a new recording of the song by The Fat Boys featuring Chubby Checker. This version reached number 2 in the United Kingdom and number 1 in Germany. In 2014, Billboard magazine declared the song the “biggest hit” of the 1960s.

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Hold Atop Hot 100, Miley Cyrus Soars to Top 10

“Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, reigns for a second week, while “Malibu” marks Cyrus’ first top 10 since 2013.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated June 3) for a second week. Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus‘ “Malibu” cruises from No. 64 to No. 10 following its first full week of tracking, becoming her first top 10 since “Wrecking Ball” in 2013.

As we do every Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, May 23.

“Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) leads the Streaming Songs chart for a second week, with 59.4 million U.S. streams (up 9 percent) in the week ending May 18, according to Nielsen Music. It also rules the Digital Song Sales chart for a third week, with 115,000 downloads sold (up 11 percent) in the week ending May 18; for a second consecutive week, the remix with Bieber, released April 17, accounts for 73 percent of the song’s sales.

On Radio Songs, “Despacito” bounds 11-7 with 72 million in all-format airplay audience (up 27 percent) in the week ending May 21. Fonsi and Daddy Yankee each earn their first Radio Songs top 10; more on Bieber’s count in a bit…

“Despacito” (which translates to “slowly” in English) additionally tops the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 16th week. A week ago, on the May 27-dated Hot 100, the track became the first mostly-Spanish language Hot 100 No. 1 in 21 years, since Los Del Rio’s 14-week No. 1 “Macarena” in 1996.

Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” ranks at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a third week after topping the May 13 chart. Still, it leads the Radio Songs chart for a third frame, with 173 million in audience (down 1 percent), and tops Hot R&B Songs for a 14th week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a seventh frame.

Back to Bieber: Not only did “Despacito” mark a milestone for Latin music with its Hot 100 coronation a week ago, but it also made history for Bieber, who became the first artist ever to notch new Hot 100 No. 1s in back-to-back weeks, as a week earlier (on the May 20-dated chart) he debuted at the summit as featured on DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One,” also featuring Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne. After descending to No. 3 last week (in its second frame), the collab holds at No. 3. “One” rebounds 3-2 on Streaming Songs (45.7 million, essentially even week-over-week), while slipping 2-3 on Digital Song Sales (77,000, down 4 percent).

On Radio Songs, “One” jumps 14-8 (69 million, up 28 percent). Thanks to the climbs of “Despacito” and “One,” Bieber ups his count to 10 Radio Songs top 10s. With “One,” Lil Wayne lands his 20th Radio Songs top 10, Khaled collects his second and Quavo and Chance the Rapper each tally their first. Lil Wayne extends his mark for the most top 10s among male artists on Radio Songs (which began in 1990), pushing further ahead of runner-up Drake (18). Among all acts, Lil Wayne ranks third, after Rihanna (28 top 10s) and Mariah Carey (23).

“One” adds a third week at No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Ed Sheeran‘s former 12-week No. 1 “Shape of You” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble.,” which topped May 6-dated chart, are steady at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.

The Chainsmokers and Coldplay‘s No. 3-peaking “Something Just Like This” rebounds 7-6 on the Hot 100, as The Chainsmokers spend a 55th consecutive week in the top 10, a streak second only to Katy Perry‘s 69-week run in 2010-11. On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, “Something” logs a 10th week at No. 1. “Something” swaps spots with Future‘s No. 5-peaking “Mask Off” on the Hot 100 (6-7), while Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” keeps at its No. 8 high.

Wrapping the Hot 100’s top 10, Miley Cyrus’ “Malibu” vaults 64-10 following its first full week of activity. Released May 11, the song rockets 22-2 on Digital Song Sales with 77,000 sold in the tracking week of May 12-18 (after selling 29,000 on May 11). It concurrently enters Streaming Songs at No. 11 (21.5 million U.S. streams in the week ending May 18), while drawing 13.5 million in airplay audience in the week ending May 21.

“Malibu,” which Cyrus performed live on national TV for the first time last night (May 21) on the Billboard Music Awards, broadcast on ABC, marks Cyrus’ ninth Hot 100 top 10 and first since “Wrecking Ball,” which became her first No. 1 (for three weeks) in fall 2013. She’s earned eight of her nine top 10s under that billing; her former Disney Channel alter ego Hannah Montana was credited as the artist on 2009’s No. 10-peaking “He Could Be the One.”

And, from Montana to California: “Malibu” (one of two songs by that title to hit the Hot 100: Hole’s different composition reached No. 81 in 1999) is the latest California location name-checked in a Hot 100 top 10, joining hits ranging from “The Little Old Lady (From Pasadena)” by Jan & Dean (No. 3, 1964) to “Beverly Hills” by Weezer (No. 10, 2005), along with nine top 10s that feature “California” in their titles, including No. 1s by the Eagles, 2Pac and Katy Perry.

Find out more Hot 100 news in the weekly “Hot 100 Chart Moves” column and by listening (and subscribing) to Billboard’s Chart Beat Podcast and Pop Shop Podcast, all posting this week. Plus, visit Billboard.com tomorrow (May 23), when all charts, including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh. Harry Styles Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart

Plus, Zac Brown Band, Paramore & Machine Gun Kelly launch in the top 10.

Harry Styles bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with his self-titled debut effort, launching with 230,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending May 18, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 193,000 were in traditional album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new June 3, 2017-dated chart (where Styles enters at No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, May 23.

With Styles’ start of 193,000 he earns the biggest debut sales week for a U.K. male artist’s first full-length album since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. He surpasses the previous record holder, Sam Smith, who saw his In the Lonely Houralbum launch with 166,000 copies sold at No. 2 back in 2014.

In addition, Styles is just the second U.K. male artist to bow at No. 1 with a debut album in the 61-year history of the Billboard 200. He follows his former One Direction bandmate, Zayn, who entered at No. 1 with Mind of Mine on the chart dated April 16, 2016 (with 157,000 units and 112,000 in traditional album sales).

With One Direction having spawned No. 1 solo albums for both Styles and Zayn, the group earns the rare distinction of having more than one member achieve a solo No. 1. The group joins a club that includes Destiny’s Child, which saw both Beyoncé and LeToya Luckett claim No. 1s, while The Beatles launched chart-toppers from George Harrison, John Lennon and Paul McCartney. (The super group Blind Faith also saw its members Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood earn solo No. 1s, years after the release of the group’s only album, in 1969. Clapton first led the list in 1974, and Winwood in 1988.)

At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Zac Brown Band debuts with its latest effort, Welcome Home. It enters with 146,000 units, of which 139,000 were in traditional album sales. The group’s last studio effort, 2015’s Jekyll + Hyde, bowed at No. 1 with 228,000 units and 214,000 copies sold. In total, Zac Brown Band has achieved five top 10 albums: Welcome Home, Jekyll + Hyde, Uncaged (No. 1 in 2012), You Get What You Give (No. 1 in 2010) and The Foundation (No. 9, 2010).

Kendrick Lamar’s former No. 1 DAMN. stays steady at No. 3 with 117,000 units (down 13 percent), while Chris Stapleton’s From A Room: Volume 1 dips from No. 2 to No. 4 in its second week with 75,000 units (down 66 percent). The Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 soundtrack falls one slot to No. 5 with 69,000 units (down 21 percent).

Paramore scores its third top 10 album, as its new studio effort After Laughter starts at No. 6 with 67,000 units (53,000 in traditional album sales). It’s the act’s first studio release since its 2013 self-titled set, which bowed at No. 1 with 106,000 copies sold in its first week. The band previously logged a top 10 with its 2009 album Brand New Eyes (debuting and peaking at No. 2).

Drake’s More Life descends 5-7 with 58,000 units (down 7 percent) in its ninth week on the chart. The former chart-topper spent three weeks leading the list.

Machine Gun Kelly nets his third top 10 effort, as Bloom bows at No. 8 with 57,000 units (and 38,000 in traditional album sales). The rapper previously visited the top 10 with General Admission (No. 4 in 2015) and Lace Up (No. 4, 2012).

Rounding out the new top 10 are Ed Sheeran’s former two-week No. 1 ÷ (Divide), which slips 6-9 with 47,000 units (down 5 percent) and Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, as it moves 8-10 with 41,000 units (down 2 percent).

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito,’ Featuring Justin Bieber, Hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

The song is the first mostly Spanish-language No. 1 since “Macarena” in 1996 & makes Bieber the first artist ever to earn new No. 1s in back-to-back weeks.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, crowns the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 27), rising 3-1. Among highlights for the new leader, it’s the first mostly Spanish-language Hot 100 No. 1 in more than 20 years and it makes Bieber the first artist ever to notch new No. 1s in consecutive weeks. A week ago (on the May 20 chart), Bieber bowed at No. 1 as featured (with three other acts) on DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One” (which this week dips to No. 3).

Fonsi and Daddy Yankee each earn their first Hot 100 No. 1 and Bieber banks his fifth with “Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records).

As we do every Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, May 16.

In fact, let’s take the many notable achievements for “Despacito” at No. 1 on the Hot 100 one-by-one.

No. 1 in streams & sales: “Despacito” scores its first week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart with 54.3 million U.S. streams, up 14 percent, in the week ending May 11, according to Nielsen Music. It also leads the Digital Song Sales chart, rebounding 2-1 for a second week on top, with 104,000 downloads sold, up 4 percent, in the week ending May 11; the remix with Bieber, released April 17, accounts for 73 percent of the song’s sales in the tracking week. On Radio Songs, “Despacito” darts 18-11 with 57 million in all-format airplay audience, up 17 percent, in the week ending May 14.

Bieber earns his ninth Digital Song Sales No. 1 and fourth Streaming Songs No. 1, while Fonsi and Daddy Yankee rule each chart for the first time.

Latin leader: Translating to “slowly” in English, “Despacito” (the 1,065th total No. 1 in the history of the Hot 100, which began on Aug. 4, 1958) is the first Hot 100 No. 1 sung mostly in Spanish since Los Del Rio’s “Macarena,” which, fueled by its Bayside Boys mix, dominated for 14 weeks in 1996. It also went on to become the biggest song of all of 1996 on that year’s year-end Hot 100. (The first 40 seconds of the Bieber mix of “Despacito” finds him singing in English, along with a quick snippet by Fonsi in English later in the song.)

“‘Macarena’ Reaches Numero Uno’,” Fred Bronson beamed in the Aug. 3, 1996, Billboard Chart Beat column, the week that “Macarena” hit the Hot 100’s summit. The song became the first leader sung primarily in Spanish since 1987, when Los Lobos’ remake of Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba” became the first, and only, all-Spanish-language No. 1 (for three weeks beginning Aug. 29, 1987).

A key similarity between the last two mostly Spanish-language Hot 100 No. 1s (and unlike “La Bamba”): Both “Macarena” and “Despacito” surged to new heights following the arrival of more mainstream remixes that added lyrics sung in English. The Bayside Boys mix transformed “Macarena” into a more pop-friendly dance song, after it had first hit No. 45 in fall 1995 in its original form. (The Bayside Boys’ makeover was actually released in August 1995 but didn’t fully catch on until dance/pop radio station WKTU New York added it in May 1996, jumpstarting its explosion). Meanwhile, “Despacito” had reached an almost identical No. 44 before the release of the Bieber-assisted version.

Hot Latin Songs leader: “Despacito” tops the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 15th week. While it’s Bieber’s first No. 1 on the genre chart, it’s Fonsi’s seventh and Daddy Yankee’s fifth. And, with 15 weeks on top, the track is tied for the 10th-longest No. 1 run in the chart’s 30-year history.

As for Bieber on the Hot 100 …

Bieber’s historic back-to-back No. 1s: Bieber becomes the first artist ever to tally new No. 1s on the Hot 100 in back-to-back weeks: “I’m the One” debuted at No. 1 on the May 20-dated chart (a week ago) and now “Despacito” dethrones it on the May 27 survey. The previous fastest accumulation of new No. 1s? Oh, only by The Beatles: On March 21, 1964, amid the frenzy of early Beatlemania, “She Loves You” hit No. 1; two weeks later, on the April 4-dated chart, “Can’t Buy Me Love” supplanted it. So, by adding new No. 1s in back-to-back weeks, Bieber bests the Beatles by a week for the quickest collection of new Hot 100 leaders.

Bieber was already among the mere 12 acts that have replaced themselves at No. 1 on the Hot 100, as his “Love Yourself” directly succeeded “Sorry” on Feb. 13, 2016. Now, he’s one of only three acts to earn two sets of consecutive leaders. His mentor Usher replaced himself at No. 1 twice in 2004, when “Burn” took over for “Yeah!” (featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris) and then when (after a No. 1 by Fantasia, “I Believe,” interrupted the reign of “Burn”) “Confessions Part II” replaced “Burn.”

The other act to have replaced itself with more than one pair of Hot 100 No. 1s: The Beatles again, who remain the only act to ring up three No. 1s in a row at the expense of all competition: their debut U.S. smash “I Want to Hold Your Hand” led directly before “She Loves You” and “Can’t Buy Me Love.”

Eight straight: “Despacito” marks the eighth consecutive Hot 100 No. 1 exclusively by male artists. That’s the longest streak in 29 years, since male artists linked 13 in a row in 1988. The all-time record? 17 in a row in 1961. (Click here for all details.)

The most turnover at the top in 27 years: “Despacito” topping the May 27-dated Hot 100 also marks the fourth new No. 1 in as many weeks, following the coronations of Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble.” (May 6), Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” (May 13) and Khaled’s “I’m the One” (May 20). Incredibly, that’s the quickest turn-around of new No. 1s on the chart since late 1990 (notably, before electronically-measured Nielsen Music data began fueling the chart in November 1991, making for generally longer No. 1 reigns than before, when the chart had been fed by ranked reports from radio stations and retailers).

The current streak is the longest since seven Hot 100 No. 1s stepped up to the top in successive weeks nearly 27 years ago: “(Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection,” Nelson (Sept. 29, 1990); “Close to You,” Maxi Priest (Oct. 6); “Praying for Time,” George Michael (Oct. 13); “I Don’t Have the Heart,” James Ingram (Oct. 20); “Black Cat,” Janet Jackson (Oct. 27); “Ice Ice Baby,” Vanilla Ice (Nov. 3); and “Love Takes Time,” Mariah Carey (Nov. 10, to begin a three-week reign).

Oddly enough, the current run of four new No. 1s follows 11 straight weeks atop the Hot 100 for Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” (which led for 12 total weeks).

As “Despacito” rules the Hot 100, Mars’ “Like” ranks at No. 2 for a second week after topping the May 13 chart. Still, it leads the Radio Songs chart for a second week, with 175 million in audience, up 1 percent. The track tops Hot R&B Songs for a 13th week and returns (2-1) for a sixth week atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Khaled’s “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, descends to No. 3 a week after launching at No. 1 on the Hot 100. It drops 1-2 on Digital Song Sales (80,000, down 53 percent) and 1-3 on Streaming Songs (46 million, down 15 percent). It surges, however, 33-14 on Radio Songs, up 53 percent to 54 million and winning the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award. The collab spends a second week at No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Sheeran’s “Shape” reverses course, rising 5-4, and Lamar’s “Humble.” falls 4-5. Interestingly, that makes for five current or former Hot 100 No. 1s in the top five, marking the first such sweep since the Feb. 4-dated chart (at Nos. 1-5, in order, that week: Migos’ “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert; “Shape”; Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles, featuring Gucci Mane; The Chainsmokers’ “Closer,” featuring Halsey; and The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” featuring Daft Punk).

Future’s No. 5-peaking “Mask Off” rebounds 7-6 on the Hot 100, swapping spots with The Chainsmokers and Coldplay‘s No. 3-peaking “Something Just Like This” (6-7). The Chainsmokers, meanwhile, spend a 54th consecutive week in the top 10, a streak second only to Katy Perry’s 69-week run in 2010-11. On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, “Something” logs a ninth week at No. 1. As previously reported, the song also tops the Pop Songs airplay chart, where it’s Coldplay’s first No. 1 after a record 16-year wait.

Closing out the Hot 100’s top 10, Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO TOUR Llif3” revisits its No. 8 high, lifting from No. 9; Zedd and Alessia Cara‘s “Stay” re-enters the top 10 (11-9), after reaching No. 7; and Kyle’s “iSpy,” featuring Lil Yachty, slides 8-10, after hitting No. 4.

DJ Khaled’s All-Star ‘I’m the One’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

The song, featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper & Lil Wayne, is Khaled’s first Hot 100 leader.

DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One,” featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, launches at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 20). The high-profile collab, released on We the Best/Def Jam/Epic Records, is the first Hot 100 leader for Khaled (who co-produced and co-wrote it and adds vocals) and Chance the Rapper, as well as the first for Quavo, of rap act Migos, as a soloist. Bieber earns his fourth No. 1 and Lil Wayne scores his third.

The song dethrones Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” after a week at No. 1 on the Hot 100, although it takes over atop the Radio Songs chart.

As we do every Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, May 9.

In fact, let’s break out in 10 parts the many feats achieved with the No. 1 Hot 100 arrival for “One.”

‘One’ in streams & sales: “One,” released April 28, opens at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart with 53.9 million U.S. streams in the week ending May 4, according to Nielsen Music. It also arrives atop the Digital Song Sales chart with 171,000 downloads sold in the week ending May 4. On Radio Songs, “One” is the week’s top debut at No. 33 with 35 million in all-format airplay audience in the week ending May 7.

Bieber earns his eighth Digital Song Sales No. 1 and third Streaming Songs No. 1, while Lil Wayne lands his third No. 1 on the sales list (and first on Streaming Songs). The other three acts on “One” rule each ranking for the first time.

Number ‘One’ debut: “One” is just the 28th title to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100. It’s the first since Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” on the Jan. 28, 2017-dated chart. (“One” is the 1,064th total No. 1 in the history of the Hot 100, which began on Aug. 4, 1958.)

Meanwhile, “One” is the first rap song to debut atop the Hot 100 since Eminem’s “Not Afraid,” seven years ago this week (May 22, 2010).

Plus, “One” is the second song to debut atop the Hot 100 with, appropriately, the word “one” in its title: On Dec. 2, 1995, another superstar team-up, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men‘s “One Sweet Day,” launched at the summit. It went on to spend a record 16 weeks at No. 1. Speaking of Carey…

Bieber’s second No. 1 bow: Bieber becomes just the third artist to have debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with multiple titles. He first opened on top with his first leader, “What Do You Mean?” (Sept. 19, 2015). Carey leads with three No. 1 entrances (“Fantasy,” “One Sweet Day,” both in 1995, and “Honey,” 1997), while Britney Spears, like Bieber now, has made two such starts (“3,” in 2009, and “Hold It Against Me,” 2011).

Bieber & Lil Wayne’s latest Hot 100 leaders: Bieber and Lil Wayne are the chart-topping veterans on “One,” tallying their fourth and third Hot 100 No. 1, respectively. In addition to “One” and “Mean,” Bieber ruled in 2016 with “Sorry” and “Love Yourself.” Lil Wayne led with “Lollipop,” featuring Static Major, in 2008, and as featured on Jay Sean’s “Down,” in 2009.

The rest of the “One” team easily earns new Hot 100 highs. Khaled logged one prior top 10: “I’m On One,” featuring Drake, Rick Ross and (oh, look) Lil Wayne, which reached No. 10 in 2011.

Quavo also collects his second top 10 (apart from Migos). Drake’s “Portland,” featuring Quavo and Travis Scott, debuted and peaked at No. 9 in April.

Chance the Rapper achieves not only his first Hot 100 No. 1 or top 10, but even his first top 40 hit: he’d climbed to a prior No. 41 best with his first entry, 2013’s featured turn on “Confident” by… Bieber.

Bieber goes fourth: Notably, Bieber has now earned more top five Hot 100 hits after his 2015 album Purpose than he did from the set: following the LP’s No. 1s “Mean,” “Sorry” and “Love Yourself,” he’s added four top fives in featured roles, on Major Lazer‘s “Cold Water” (also featuring MO; No. 2); DJ Snake‘s “Let Me Love You” (No. 4); Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito” (up to No. 3 this week, see below); and now Khaled’s No. 1 “One.”

Five at 1 with ‘One’: “One” marks the first Hot 100 No. 1 by five individually credited acts. Twice before, a high of four acts had shared a leader on the list, via “Give Me Everything,” by Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer (2011), and “Lady Marmalade,” by Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya and P!nk (2001).

(Ironically, the hook of the Hot 100’s new five-act leader finds Bieber singing, “I’m the only one …”)

Quavo & Migos: As member of Migos, Quavo spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 beginning Jan. 21 with “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert. Now with a solo No. 1 thanks to “One,” Quavo is the first artist to top the chart with a group and as a soloist in the same year since will.i.am in 2010. That year, he led with The Black Eyed Peas’ “Imma Be” (two weeks, beginning March 6) and solo as featured on Usher’s “OMG” (four weeks, May 15).

“One” even sports a nod to “Boujee,” with Quavo reprising the song’s signature “rain drop” lyric. (And, mostly unrelated, but interesting: Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown get a shoutout, too, in Lil Wayne’s verse. Houston earned 11 Hot 100 No. 1s with her own songs, and Brown, two.)

Three at 1: The Hot 100 has welcomed a new No. 1 in each of the last three weeks. Mars’ “That’s What I Like” rose 3-1 on the May 13 chart, after Kendrick Lamar‘s’ “Humble.” made the same move on May 6. The Hot 100 hadn’t seen three new No. 1s in three consecutive weeks since December 2010, when Rihanna’s “Only Girl (In the World),” P!nk’s “Raise Your Glass” and Katy Perry’s “Firework” all logged their first weeks at No. 1 that Dec. 4, 11 and 18.

Summer Number ‘One’? It’s worth noting that Drake’s “One Dance,” featuring WizKid and Kyla, hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 a year ago this week (on the chart dated May 21, 2016), given that it went on to become the No. 1 song of the summer of 2016 (based on chart performance between Memorial Day and Labor Day). Could “I’m the One” similarly sizzle this summer? One major-market radio program director told Billboard that, in his opinion, it’s the “first contender” for song of the summer this year.

That’s a rap: Additionally, “One” debuts at No. 1 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. Khaled earns his second leader on each list, following “I’m on One.” Lil Wayne, meanwhile, ups his count to 10 No. 1s. Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper tally their first No. 1 each on the survey.

As “One” overtakes the Hot 100 in its first week, Mars’ “Like” drops to No. 2 after a week on top. Still, it rises 2-1 on Radio Songs (172 million, up 4 percent), becoming Mars’ seventh No. 1 on the airplay chart, tying him with Usher for the most among solo males. The two equal Perry for the third-most among all artists, after Rihanna (12) and Carey (11). “Like” leads Hot R&B Songs for a 12th week.

More Bieber: Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito,” featuring Bieber, hits a new Hot 100 high, lifting 4-3. It descends to No. 2 after a week atop Digital Song Sales, but gains by 16 percent to 100,000 sold (with 70 percent of its total sales from the Bieber remix). It dips 2-3 on Streaming Songs, but similarly increases by 10 percent to 48 million. On Radio Songs, the track surges 32-18 (49 million, up 30 percent), winning the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award. “Despacito” leads Hot Latin Songs for a 14th week.

Even more Bieber: he’s the first artist to place two titles in the Hot 100’s top three simultaneously since… he himself doubled up with “Love Yourself” (No. 1) and “Sorry” (No. 3) on Feb. 27, 2016.

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Lamar’s “Humble.” falls 3-4 and Sheeran’s former 12-week Hot 100 No. 1 “Shape” slides 2-5.

Capping the Hot 100’s top 10, The Chainsmokers and Coldplay‘s No. 3-peaking “Something Just Like This” holds at No. 6 (as The Chainsmokers spend a 53rd consecutive week in the top 10). On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, “Something” logs an eighth total week at No. 1. Future‘s “Mask Off” drops to No. 7 from its No. 5 Hot 100 peak, followed by three songs that each stay in place: Kyle’s “iSpy,” featuring Lil Yachty (No. 8, after hitting No. 4); Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO TOUR Llif3” (No. 9, after reaching No. 8); and Kygo and Selena Gomez‘s “It Ain’t Me,” which keeps at its No. 10 high after entering the region a week ago.

Bruno Mars’ ‘That’s What I Like’ Lifts to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

The song becomes Mars’ seventh Hot 100 leader. Plus, The Chainsmokers mark a year in the top 10, Kygo & Selena Gomez reach the top 10 with “It Ain’t Me” & more.

Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” climbs from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 13), becoming the pop/R&B superstar’s seventh Hot 100 No. 1.

Meanwhile, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, bounds 9-4 and takes over as the best-selling song of the week; The Chainsmokers become only the second act to chart in the Hot 100’s top 10 for at least a year non-stop (52 weeks consecutively); and Kygo and Selena Gomez‘s “It Ain’t Me” hits the top 10, pushing 13-10.

As we do every Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, May 2.

“Like,” released on Atlantic Records, becomes the 1,063rd No. 1 in the Hot 100’s history (which dates to Aug. 4, 1958). It’s Mars’ first leader since he ruled for 14 weeks as featured on Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk!” in 2015 and his first as a lead artist since “When I Was Your Man” topped the April 20, 2013-dated Hot 100.

With Mars having tallied his first No. 1 as an artist on May 1, 2010 (exactly seven years ago today), as the featured artist on B.o.B’s “Nothin’ On You,” he moves closer to the mark for the most No. 1s this decade: His seven are the most among male artists in the 2010s and, overall, trail only Rihanna‘s nine and Katy Perry‘s eight this decade. (Mars boasts more than twice as many Hot 100 No. 1s in the ’10s than any other male; he extends his lead over Bieber, Drake, Eminem and The Weeknd, each with three in that span.)

In the Hot 100’s history, Mars ties for seventh place among solo males with the most No. 1s, matching the seven leaders each for Phil Collins, Frankie Valli and Elvis Presley (whose career predated the Hot 100 by two years). Michael Jackson leads all male soloists with 13 No. 1s (while The Beatles pace all acts with 20).

Also notably, “Like” leads the Hot 100 in its 15th week on the chart, completing the longest rise to No. 1 since Sia’s “Cheap Thrills,” featuring Sean Paul, which hit the top in its 23rd frame (Aug. 6, 2016). No song by a lead male had needed more weeks to reign than “Like” since The Weeknd’s “The Hills” (17 weeks, 2015). “Like” had previously peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for four weeks.

“Like” keeps at No. 2 on the Radio Songs chart with 165 million in airplay audience (up 3 percent) in the week ending April 30, according to Nielsen Music. It also holds at No. 2 on Digital Song Sales with 78,000 sold (down 3 percent) in the week ending April 27. On Streaming Songs, “Like” rises 6-5 (39.5 million U.S. streams, up 15 percent, in the week ending April 27), further boosted by four remixes posted to Mars’ official YouTube channel on April 21.

More Mars achievements: “Like” is the second single from his third full-length album, 24K Magic, following the title cut, which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100 in December. He’s now notched at least one Hot 100 No. 1 from three consecutive LPs, having posted two each from 2010’s Doo-Wops & Hooligans (“Just the Way You Are,” “Grenade”) and 2013’s Unorthodox Jukebox (“Locked Out of Heaven,” “When I Was Your Man”). He’s the first male to link such a streak since Eminem, whose Relapse, Recovery and The Marshall Mathers LP each yielded a No. 1 in 2009-13. Among all acts, Rihanna holds the record, having landed at least one Hot 100 No. 1 from each of her last seven studio LPs, from 2006’s A Girl Like Me to 2016’s ANTI.

As for acts scoring Hot 100 No. 1s from each of their first three major-label full-length studio albums, Mars is the first to earn the honor since Katy Perry, whose first three solo albums (One of the Boys, Teenage Dream and PRISM) all generated Hot 100 leaders in 2008-14.

Additionally, while Mars celebrates his seventh Hot 100 No. 1 as an artist — all of which he’s co-written and co-produced — he claims one more as a co-writer: he first reached the summit as one of the writers of Flo Rida‘s “Right Round,” which spent six weeks at No. 1 in 2009.

Over on the Hot R&B Songs chart, “Like” leads for an 11th week. It rebounds for a fifth week atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (marking Mars’ first No. 1 on each chart).

Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” holds at No. 2 on the Hot 100 after 12 weeks at No. 1. Still, it adds a 12th week at No. 1 on Radio Songs (178 million, down 3 percent), tying for the longest No. 1 run for a track by a solo male in the airplay chart’s 26-year history. It matches the 12-week rules of Ronson’s “Uptown Funk!”; Usher’s “Yeah!,” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris (2004); Nelly’s “Dilemma,” featuring Kelly Rowland (2002); and, thanks to a featured role, Calvin Harris on Rihanna’s “We Found Love” (2011-12). (Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” holds the overall mark: 18 weeks at No. 1 on Radio Songs in 1998-99.) “Shape” keeps at No. 6 on Digital Song Sales (53,000, down 2 percent) and descends 4-7 on Streaming Songs (36.5 million, down 8 percent).

After rising 3-1 a week ago to become Kendrick Lamar‘s first Hot 100 No. 1 as a lead artist, his “Humble.” returns to No. 3. It tops Streaming Songs, however, for a fourth week (57.6 million, down 14 percent). It also leads the audio subscription services-based On-Demand Streaming Songs chart (34.4 million on-demand U.S. streams) and Hot Rap Songs for a fourth week each.

As previously reported, Lamar’s LP DAMN., which includes “Humble.,” spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, the set’s “DNA.” dips to No. 7 on the Hot 100 after debuting a week ago at No. 4; on Streaming Songs, it falls 2-3 (39.6 million, down 22 percent).

Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” featuring Bieber, jumps 9-4 on the Hot 100. Following its first full week of tracking after the April 17 arrival of its new Bieber-assisted remix and video, the song zooms 8-1 on Digital Song Sales, up 43 percent to 86,000 sold. The mostly-Spanish-language single is the first song not sung primarily in English to top Digital Song Sales since PSY‘s “Gangnam Style,” which led the list for six weeks in 2012. “Despacito” (which translates to “slowly” in English) is the first song sung mostly in Spanish ever to lead Digital Song Sales.

On the Hot 100, “Despacito” is the first primarily Spanish-language song to reach the top five since Los Del Rio’s 14-week No. 1 “Macarena” in 1996 (fueled by its Bayside Boys remix).

“Despacito” surges 14-2 on Streaming Songs (43.3 million, up 80 percent) and 39-32 on Radio Songs (38 million, up 25 percent). It leads the Hot Latin Songs chart for a lucky 13th week. Fonsi and Daddy Yankee performed the song April 27 at the 2017 Billboard Latin Music Awards, broadcast live on Telemundo.

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Future‘s highest-charting Hot 100 hit, “Mask Off,” stays at No. 5. Driven by the #MaskOffChallenge meme, in which everyone from dancers to violinists and flute players accompany the song in user-generated clips on YouTube, the track retreats 3-4 on Streaming Songs, although it gains by 2 percent to 39.3 million.

The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” rebounds 8-6 on the Hot 100, after climbing to No. 3. Meanwhile, the Chainsmokers reach a milestone achieved by only one prior artist: they have now spent 52 consecutive weeks in the Hot 100’s top 10, dating to May 21, 2016, and encompassing four top 10s: “Don’t Let Me Down,” featuring Daya; “Closer,” featuring Halsey; “Paris” and “Something.” Only Katy Perry had previously logged at least a year in the bracket non-stop, having linked a record 69 straight weeks in the top 10 in 2010-11.

On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, “Something” logs a seventh total week at No. 1.

Below Lamar’s “DNA.” on the Hot 100, KYLE’s debut hit “iSpy,” featuring Lil Yachty, slips 6-8 after rising to No. 4 and Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” rebounds 10-9 after reaching No. 8.

Capping the Hot 100’s top 10, Kygo and Gomez reach the region with “It Ain’t Me” (13-10). Following the April 24 premiere of its proper official video, the collab bullets at No. 4 on Radio Songs (87 million, up 12 percent) and pushes 17-9 on Digital Song Sales (43,000, up 4 percent) and 34-21 on Streaming Songs (17.5 million, up 10 percent).

Kygo celebrates his first Hot 100 top 10 and Gomez, her seventh, all since “Come & Get It” became her first in May 2013. She had last ranked in the top 10 as featured on Charlie Puth‘s “We Don’t Talk Anymore” (No. 9 in October); she had last hit the top 10 as a lead earlier in 2016 with the No. 7-peaking “Hands to Myself.”
