Lorde Earns First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘Melodrama’

Lorde notches her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as her second full-length album, Melodrama, debuts atop the list. The set, which was released on June 16 through Lava/Republic Records, earned 109,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 22, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 82,000 were in traditional album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new July 8-dated chart (where Lorde starts at No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, June 27.

Melodrama follows Lorde’s debut full-length album, Pure Heroine, which debuted and peaked at No. 3 in 2013 with 129,000 copies sold in its first week (before the album transitioned to a consumption-based ranking in 2014).

Melodrama marks the third album by a woman in a row at No. 1 on the chart (in as many weeks), following the chart-topping arrivals of Katy Perry’s Witness (July 1) and Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom (June 24). The chart last had three women in a row back in December 2012, when Taylor Swift’s Red returned to No. 1 (Dec. 22), following No. 1 bows by Alicia Keys’ Girl on Fire (Dec. 15) and Rihanna’s Unapologetic (Dec. 8). Until the latest triple, the chart had not housed three new No. 1s by women since September 2009, when Whitney Houston’s I Look to You (Sept. 19) followed Colbie Caillat’s Breakthrough (Sept. 12) and Reba’s Keep On Loving You (Sept. 5). (All three titles were spending their first week at No. 1, and all debuted atop the tally.)

Lorde leads a jam-packed top 10, as six albums debut in the region — the most debuts in the top 10 in nearly eight months. The chart last had more bows in the top 10 on the Nov. 12, 2016-dated list, when seven albums debuted, led by Lady Gaga’s No. 1 launch with Joanne.

On the new Billboard 200, 2 Chainz’s Pretty Girls Like Trap Music starts at No. 2 with 106,000 units (57,000 in traditional album sales). The album collected the most on-demand audio streams for its songs among any album on the chart, with 46,000 SEA units (equating to 69.5 million streams for its tracks). The album earns 2 Chainz his fourth straight top 10 (in as many charting albums), following Collegrove (No. 4 in 2016), B.O.A.T.S. II #METIME (No. 3, 2013) and Based on a T.R.U. Story (No. 1, 2012).

Kendrick Lamar’s former three-week No. 1 DAMN. moves 2-3 in its 10th chart week, with 70,000 units (up 1 percent).

Jason Isbell claims his highest charting album, second top 10 effort and best sales week, as The Nashville Sound (with The 400 Unit) debuts at No. 4 with 54,000 units. Of that sum, 51,000 were in traditional album sales. That surpasses Isbell’s previous sales high of 46,000, logged by Something More Than Free in its debut frame back in 2015. Something More Than Free was also his high-water mark on the chart until this week, as it debuted and peaked at No. 6.

Nickelback notches its seventh top 10 effort, as Feed the Machine bows at No. 5 with 47,000 units (43,000 in traditional album sales). The album is the band’s first through BMG, after one album with Republic (2014’s No Fixed Address) and an earlier long run with Roadrunner Records.

Drake’s More Life falls one rung to No. 6 with 42,000 units (up 3 percent) while Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) also is down one spot to No. 7 with 38,000 units (down 8 percent). The sets led the Billboard 200 for three and two weeks, respectively.

Young Thug’s Beautiful Thugger Girls debuts at No. 8 with 37,000 units, bolstered by 28,000 in SEA units. The album sold 7,000 copies and tallied a little more than 1,000 TEA units. It’s the third top 10 set for the rapper, after Jeffery (No. 8 in April 2016) and Slime Season 3 (No. 7 in September 2016).

Alternative/folk band Fleet Foxes claims its second top 10 effort, as Crack-Up bows at No. 9 with 34,000 units (32,000 in traditional album sales). It’s the first release for the act in nearly six years, since Helplessness Blues, which debuted and peaked at No. 4 in May of 2011.

Rounding out the new top 10 is Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, descending two slots to No. 10. It earned 30,000 units in the latest tracking week (down 8 percent).

MUSIC: Listen to this Song “Con Te Partiro” by Andrea Bocelli

“Con te partirò” (Italian: [kon ˈte ppartiˈrɔ]; “I will leave with you”) is an Italian song written by Francesco Sartori (music) and Lucio Quarantotto (lyrics). It was first performed by Andrea Bocelli at the 1995 Sanremo Festival and recorded on his album of the same year, Bocelli. The single was first released as an A-side single with “Vivere” in 1995, topping the charts, first in France, where it became one of the best selling singles of all time, and then in Belgium, breaking the all-time record sales there.

A second version of the song, sung partly in English, released in 1996 as “Time to Say Goodbye”, paired Bocelli with English soprano Sarah Brightman, and achieved even greater success, topping charts all across Europe, including Germany, where it became the biggest-selling single in history. Brightman and Bocelli produced a version with Brightman singing in German and Bocelli in Italian, with this version being available on the CD Time to Say Goodbye. That version alone has now sold more than 12 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.

Bocelli also recorded a full Spanish version of the song, titled “Por Ti Volaré” (For You I Will Fly). Under all those three versions, the song is considered Bocelli’s signature song.

‘Despacito’ Dominates Hot 100 & Justin Bieber Has Week’s Three Top-Selling Songs

“Despacito,” “I’m the One” & new “2U” make Bieber the first act ever with the week’s top three-selling downloads.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated July 1) for a sixth week. Bieber, meanwhile, becomes the first act with the top three best-selling digital downloads in a single week.

As we do each Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, June 20.

“Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) leads the Digital Song Sales chart for a sixth week, with 140,000 downloads sold (down 1 percent) in the week ending June 15, according to Nielsen Music; the remix with Bieber accounts for 80 percent of the song’s sales for a third consecutive week. The track tops the Streaming Songs chart for a sixth week, with 69.4 million U.S. streams (up 2 percent) in the week ending June 15. On Radio Songs, “Despacito” darts 6-3 with 125 million in all-format airplay audience (up 12 percent) in the week ending June 18, adding the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award for a fifth consecutive week.

“Despacito” also tops the Hot Latin Songs chart for a landmark 20th week (becoming the eighth title to reach the milestone, dating to the list’s 1986 launch) and the Songs of the Summer chart for a third week (since the survey’s return two weeks ago).

DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, rises 3-2 on the Hot 100; it spent five weeks at No. 3 after debuting atop the May 20-dated chart. “One” adds a seventh week at No. 1 on Hot Rap Songs and a second week atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (2-1) and holds at No. 2 on Digital Song Sales (77,000, up 9 percent).

Bieber further makes history, becoming the first artist to rank at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 concurrently on Digital Song Sales, as David Guetta‘s “2U,” featuring Bieber, launches at No. 3 on the sales tally with 72,000 first-week downloads sold (following its June 9 release), below “Despacito” and “I’m the One,” respectively. “2U” debuts at No. 16 on the Hot 100, also sparked by its No. 21 arrival on Streaming Songs (14.2 million U.S. clicks) and No. 40 entrance on Radio Songs (28 million impressions).

Bieber, meanwhile, doubles his longest Hot 100 reign. Of his four prior No. 1s, he had ruled the longest with “Sorry,” for three weeks in early 2016.

Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” drops 2-3 on the Hot 100, following six weeks at No. 2 after it topped the May 13-dated chart. Still, it paces Radio Songs for a seventh week, with 154 million in audience (down 7 percent), tying his longest command as a lead artist with “Just the Way You Are” (2010) and “Locked Out of Heaven” (2013); he’s led longer only as featured on Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk!” (12 weeks, 2015). “Like” also leads Hot R&B Songs for an 18th week.

Ed Sheeran‘s former 12-week Hot 100 No. 1 “Shape of You” keeps at No. 4 and extends its record for the most weeks spent in the top five from a song’s debut, having now tallied its first 23 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five, dating to its start at No. 1 (Jan. 28).

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble.,” which topped the May 6-dated Hot 100, is steady at No. 5.

Future’s No. 5-peaking “Mask Off” remains at No. 6 on the Hot 100 and The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s No. 3-peaking “Something Just Like This” lifts 8-7, as The Chainsmokers spend a 59th consecutive week in the Hot 100’s top 10, a streak second only to Katy Perry’s record 69-week run in 2010-11. The track logs a 12th week atop the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Zedd and Alessia Cara‘s “Stay” rebounds 9-8 on the Hot 100 after climbing to No. 7; Post Malone’s first Hot 100 top 10, “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo, rises to a new best rank (10-9); and Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” descends to No. 10 from its No. 7 high.

Just beyond the Hot 100’s top 10, Childish Gambino‘s “Redbone” reaches a new peak (16-14) and Halsey‘s “Now or Never” enters the top 20 (21-20). Plus, Selena Gomez‘s “Bad Liar” leaps 45-23, hitting a new high (passing its prior best of No. 27), as it vaults 34-12 on Digital Song Sales (34,000 sold, up 100 percent) and re-enters Streaming Songs at No. 34 (12.2 million U.S. streams, up 34 percent), following the June 14 premiere of its official video.

Katy Perry Scores Third No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘Witness’

Katy Perry claims her third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as her latest release, Witness, debuts atop the list. The set, which was released on June 9 through Capitol Records, earned 180,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 15, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 162,000 are in traditional album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new July 1-dated chart (where Perry debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, June 20.

Witness follows Perry’s two earlier No. 1s: Prism (in 2013) and Teenage Dream (2010). All three albums debuted atop the list. Prism, her previous studio set, launched with 286,000 in sales (before the chart transitioned to a units-based ranking in December of 2014).

Perry’s bow of 180,000 units is the biggest week for an album by a woman in 2017, and the largest since Lady Gaga’s Joanne started at No. 1 with 201,000 units on the chart dated Nov. 12, 2016. Witness also logs the largest sales week for an album by a woman since Joanne (170,000).

As Perry’s Witness follows Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom at No. 1, the Billboard 200 has back-to-back No. 1s by women for the first time in more than a year. It last happened on the April 2 and April 9, 2016-dated lists, when Rihanna’s Anti and Gwen Stefani’s This Is What the Truth Feels Like held court, respectively. Further, Perry is just the second woman to lead the Billboard 200 in 2017 (after Halsey), and the fifth woman to be No. 1 in the past 12 months. (In that same span of time, 16 men and 10 male-dominated groups have topped the chart.)

At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. is a non-mover with 69,000 units (down 5 percent). The former No. 1 album has yet to leave the top three positions of the chart during its nine weeks on the list.

Buzzed-about singer/songwriter SZA nets her first top 10 album with the arrival of her debut full-length studio effort, Ctrl, at No. 3. It bows with 60,000 units, of which 25,000 are in traditional album sales. The set was powered by streams, as the title earns 33,000 SEA units (equating to 49.52 million streams for the songs on the album). The remainder of its 60,000-start is comprised of TEA (2,000 units). Ctrl is SZA’s second top 40-charting effort, following the No. 39 peak of her mixtape Z back in 2014.

At No. 4, country trio Lady Antebellum notches its seventh top 10 album, as its new studio effort Heart Break launches with 53,000 units (47,000 in traditional album sales). The act’s last release, 2014’s 747, flew in at No. 2 in October of that year with 74,000 copies sold in its first week. The group also reached the top 10 with Golden (No. 1 in 2013), the holiday album On This Winter’s Night (No. 8, 2012), Own the Night (No. 1, 2011), Need You Now (No. 1, 2010) and its self-titled debut (No. 4, 2008).

Drake’s More Life climbs one spot to No. 5 on the new Billboard 200 (a little more than 41,000 units; down 3 percent) and Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) also rises a rung to No. 6 (41,000 units; up 1 percent).

Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom slides from No. 1 to No. 7 in its second week, earning slightly more than 33,000 units (down 68 percent). Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic rises two positions to No. 8 with 33,000 units (up 2 percent).

Rock band Rise Against clocks the fourth and final debut in the top 10, as its new album Wolves arrives at No. 9 with 29,000 units (27,000 in traditional album sales). It’s the fifth top 10 set for the act, following The Black Market (No. 3 in 2014), Endgame (No. 2, 2011), Appeal to Reason (No. 3, 2008) and The Sufferer & The Witness (No. 10, 2006).

Closing out the new top 10 is Post Malone’s Stoney, which rises 12-10 with 29,000 units (up less than 1 percent).

Lastly, three albums that were in the top 10 a week ago fall off the chart entirely. The Epic AF compilation, the Summer Latin Hits 2017 compilation, and All Time Low’s Last Young Renegade move from Nos. 3, 8 and 9, respectively, to off the chart. The latter title earned 4,000 units in the latest tracking week (down 88 percent), but that point total was not enough to keep the album on the chart. As for the two compilations, they move off the list following a revision to how our consumption-based album charts rank various artists titles. Now, most various artists compilation albums will only be able to chart on the Billboard 200 and other consumption-ranked album charts based on traditional album sales. Track equivalent album (TEA) units and/or streaming equivalent album (SEA) units will no longer contribute to a various artists’ album ranking and unit count. In the latest tracking week, neither Epic AF or Summer Latin Hits 2017 sold enough in traditional album sales to rank on the Billboard 200.

Some various artists titles will continue to earn TEA and SEA: thematic multi-artist compilation albums which contain tracks specifically recorded for that project , like The Hamilton Mixtape, We Love Disney and some charity albums like Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years of The Story. In addition, soundtracks and cast recordings will continue to receive TEA and SEA as applicable.

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ Dominates Hot 100 for Fifth Week

Plus, the song’s featured artist Justin Bieber passes The Beatles for a record in the top three.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, rules the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated June 24) for a fifth week.

As we do each Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, June 6.

“Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) leads the Digital Song Sales chart for a sixth week, with 141,000 downloads sold (down 5 percent) in the week ending June 8; the remix with Bieber accounts for 80 percent of the song’s sales for a second consecutive week. The track tops the Streaming Songs chart for a fifth week, with 68.3 million U.S. streams (down 2 percent) in the week ending June 8, according to Nielsen Music. On Radio Songs, “Despacito” keeps at No. 7 with 112 million in all-format airplay audience (up 11 percent) in the week ending June 11, adding the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award for a fourth consecutive week.

“Despacito” concurrently leads the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 19th week and the Songs of the Summer chart for a second week (since the latter list’s return a week ago).

Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” ranks at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a sixth week, after topping the May 13-dated chart. It also leads Radio Songs for a sixth week, with 165 million in audience (essentially even week-over-week), and tops Hot R&B Songs for a 17th week, and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a 10th frame.

DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, tallies a fourth week at No. 3 after debuting atop the May 20-dated Hot 100. “One” adds a sixth week at No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.

As for Bieber, he’s ranked in the Hot 100’s top three with two titles, “Despacito” and “I’m the One,” for the past five weeks, and has now logged 13 total weeks with two concurrent songs in the top three; he notched eight weeks with two songs (“Love Yourself” and “Sorry”) in the top three simultaneously in January and February 2016. Bieber passes The Beatles for the most such weeks, as the Fab Four accumulated 12 weeks with at least two songs in the top five at the same time (in 1964 and 1969; in five of those frames in 1964, The Beatles monopolized the entire top three, a feat that no other artist has accomplished).

Meanwhile, Bieber could make a lofty launch on next week’s Hot 100 (dated July 1) thanks to another feature, on David Guetta‘s “2U,” released Friday (June 9).

Ed Sheeran‘s former 12-week Hot 100 No. 1 “Shape of You” rebounds 5-4, and extends its record for the most weeks spent in the top five from a song’s debut, having now collected its first 22 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five, dating to its arrival at No. 1 (Jan. 28). (Follow-up radio single “Castle on the Hill,” which debuted at its No. 6 high on the Hot 100 concurrent with the No. 1 bow of “Shape,” climbs 28-23, marking its highest rank since its debut week.)

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble.,” which topped the May 6-dated Hot 100, descends 4-5.

Future‘s No. 5-peaking “Mask Off” holds at No. 6 on the Hot 100, and Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” hits a new high, climbing 9-7. “Life” also lifts to a new peak on Streaming Songs (4-2; 41 million, up 1 percent).

The Chainsmokers and Coldplay‘s No. 3-peaking “Something Just Like This” remains at No. 8 on the Hot 100, as The Chainsmokers spend a 58th consecutive week in the Hot 100’s top 10, a streak second only to Katy Perry’s record 69-week run in 2010-11. The track also rebounds 2-1 for an 11th week atop the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Zedd and Alessia Cara‘s “Stay” dips to No. 9 from its No. 7 Hot 100 peak, while Post Malone’s first Hot 100 top 10, “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo, keeps at its No. 10 high (first reached a week ago).

Just beyond the Hot 100’s top 10, James Arthur‘s “Say You Won’t Let Go” reverses course from No. 12 back to its No. 11 high (in its 33rd week on the chart); Imagine Dragons‘ “Believer” hits a new Hot 100 peak (15-13), while leading the Hot Rock Songs chart for a 14th week; and Shawn Mendes‘ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” hits the Hot 100’s top 20 (22-18).

The Hot 100’s top debut belongs to Fifth Harmony, whose “Down,” featuring Gucci Mane (5H’s first single following the December departure of Camila Cabello), debuts at No. 42, driven by its No. 12 start on Digital Song Sales (36,000) and 9.2 million first-week U.S. streams. DJ Khaled makes the second-highest entrance, as “To the Max,” featuring Drake, arrives at No. 53 (19,000 sold; 8.4 million streams). That track and “I’m the One” are from Khaled’s album Grateful, due June 23.

Find out more Hot 100 news in the weekly “Hot 100 Chart Moves” column and by listening (and subscribing) to Billboard‘s Chart Beat Podcast and Pop Shop Podcast. Plus, visit Billboard.com tomorrow (June 13), when all charts, including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh. MUSIC: Enjoy this song “Awesome God” by Rich Mullins

“Awesome God” is a contemporary worship song written by Rich Mullins and first recorded on his 1988 album, Winds of Heaven, Stuff of Earth. It was the first single from the album and rose to the number one spot on Christian radio and subsequently became a popular congregational song. Its title is inspired by a biblical expression (Nehemiah 1:5, Nehemiah 9:32, Psalm 47, Daniel 9:4, etc.), variously translated as “Awesome God”, (JPS, in the old-fashioned meaning “awe-inspiring”), “great” (KJV), among other alternatives. Due to the popularity of the song it became Mullins’ signature song.

Halsey Earns First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’

Pop singer-songwriter Halsey notches her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as her second full-length studio effort, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, debuts atop the list. The set, which was released on June 2 through Astralwerks Records, earned 106,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 9, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 76,000 were in traditional album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new June 24-dated chart (where Halsey debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, June 13.

Hopeless Fountain Kingdom follows Halsey’s first full-length album, Badlands, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 with 115,000 units earned in its first week. Of that sum, 97,000 were in album sales.

The new album was led by the single “Now or Never,” which granted Halsey her first top 40-charting hit on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist. On the June 17-dated chart, the song held at No. 26 (its peak) for a second week. (In between Badlands and Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, Halsey raised her profile as the featured artist on The Chainsmokers‘ smash “Closer,” which led the Hot 100 for 12 weeks beginning Sept. 3, 2016.)

Halsey’s new album is the first by a woman to be No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2017. The last leading lady to top the chart was Lady Gaga, whose Joanne album debuted on the list dated Nov. 12, 2016 — more than seven months ago. In the last 12 months, Halsey is only the fourth solo woman to top the Billboard 200, following Lady Gaga, Solange (A Seat at the Table) and Barbra Streisand (Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway). Comparatively, in the last 12 months, 16 men have earned No. 1s (including a pair each for Drake and Future), 10 groups (and only one with a female member: Pentatonix), two soundtracks (Fifty Shades Darker and Suicide Squad) and one compilation (The Hamilton Mixtape).

At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. holds steady with 73,000 units (down 14 percent). The Epic AF compilation rises 11-3 with 49,000 units (up 47 percent), after the set was reissued with three bonus tracks. The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band dips from No. 3 to No. 4 with 45,000 units (down 41 percent), a week after the album returned to the list following its 50th anniversary reissue.

Country singer Luke Combs sees his debut full-length album, This One’s for You, bow at No. 5 with 43,000 units (35,000 in traditional album sales). The new album is the artist’s second release to chart, following the same-named This One’s for You EP, which peaked at No. 151 in May. The new album was ushered in by Combs’ debut chart single “Hurricane,” which spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart.

Drake’s More Life descends 4-6 on the new Billboard 200 with 42,000 units (down 15 percent), Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) falls 6-7 with 40,000 units (up 2 percent) and the Summer Latin Hits 2017 compilation rises 9-8 with 34,000 units (down 7 percent).

Alt-rock band All Time Low collects its fifth top 10 album on the Billboard 200, as Last Young Renegade — the act’s first release through Fueled by Ramen — debuts at No. 9 with 33,000 units (30,000 in traditional album sales). The group previously notched four top 10 sets: Future Hearts (No. 2 in 2015; starting with 80,000 units and 75,000 copies sold), Don’t Panic (No. 6, 2012), Dirty Work (No. 6, 2011) and Nothing Personal (No. 4, 2009).

Rounding out the new top 10 is Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, which moves 7-10 with 32,000 units (down 15 percent).

MUSIC: Enjoy this song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen

“Hallelujah” is a song written by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, originally released on his album Various Positions (1984). Achieving little initial success, the song found greater popular acclaim through a recording by John Cale, which inspired a recording by Jeff Buckley.

Following its increased popularity after being featured in the film Shrek (2001), many other arrangements have been performed by many and various singers, both in recordings and in concert, with over 300 versions known. The song has been used in film and television soundtracks and televised talent contests. “Hallelujah” experienced renewed interest following Cohen’s death in November 2016 and appeared on multiple international singles charts, including entering the American Billboard Hot 100 for the first time.

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ Tops Hot 100 for Fourth Week, Post Malone Earns First Top 10

“Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, reigns for a fourth week, while “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo, marks Malone’s first top 10.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, leads the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated June 17) for a fourth week. Meanwhile, Post Malone scores his first top 10, with “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo.

As we do each Monday, let’s run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, June 6.

“Despacito” (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) leads the Streaming Songs chart for a fourth week, with 69.6 million U.S. streams (up 6 percent) in the week ending June 1, according to Nielsen Music. Only one song has posted a greater weekly total on Streaming Songs (which began on March 2, 2013): Baauer‘s “Harlem Shake,” which peaked with 103 million, powered heavily by user-generated clips featuring the song’s audio, the week that the survey debuted. “Despacito” passes prior runner-up “Humble.,” by Kendrick Lamar, which logged 67.4 million (May 6). The only other song to top 60 million: Adele’s “Hello” (61.6 million, in its first week, Nov. 14, 2015). “Despacito” also dominates the On-Demand Streaming Songs chart for a third week, up 5 percent to 29.4 million on-demand domestic clicks.

“Despacito” rules the Digital Song Sales chart for a fifth week, with 148,000 downloads sold (up 8 percent) in the week ending June 1; the remix with Bieber accounts for 80 percent of the song’s sales (up from 77 percent a week ago and 73 percent each of the two previous weeks).

On Radio Songs, “Despacito” keeps at No. 7, with 101 million in all-format airplay audience (up 15 percent) in the week ending June 4, adding the Hot 100’s top Airplay Gainer award for a third consecutive week.

With a fourth week atop the Hot 100, “Despacito” is the second-longest-leading of the three Spanish language-dominant Hot 100 No. 1s in the chart’s history. Los Del Rio’s “Macarena” ruled for 14 weeks in 1996 and Los Lobos’ “La Bamba” (the only all-Spanish-language No. 1; the other two are sung mostly in Spanish) reigned for three weeks in 1987. “Despacito” (whose title translates to “slowly” in English) tops the Hot Latin Songs chart for an 18th week.

Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” ranks at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a fifth week after topping the May 13-dated chart. It leads Radio Songs for a fifth week, with 165 million in audience (essentially even week-over-week), and tops Hot R&B Songs for a 16th week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a ninth week.

DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One,” featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, tallies a fourth week at No. 3 after debuting atop the May 20-dated Hot 100. The collab climbs 3-2 on Digital Song Sales (75,000, down 6 percent) and dips 2-3 on Streaming Songs (42.3 million, down 6 percent), while holding at No. 8 on Radio Songs (92 million, up 15 percent). “One” collects a fifth week at No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.

Lamar’s “Humble.,” which topped May 6-dated Hot 100, holds at No. 4 and becomes his first Radio Songs top 10 as a lead artist (11-10; 66 million, up 9 percent). He’d previously reached the region as featured on two Radio Songs No. 1s: Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” (five weeks at No. 1 in 2015) and Maroon 5’s “Don’t Wanna Know” (eight weeks beginning Dec. 31). Before “Humble.,” Lamar had peaked as high as No. 19 as a lead with “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and “Poetic Justice,” the latter featuring Drake, both in 2013.

Rounding out the Hot 100’s top five, Ed Sheeran‘s former 12-week No. 1 “Shape of You” remains at No. 5 and extends its record for the most weeks spent in the top five from a song’s debut, having now logged its first 21 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five, dating to its arrival at No. 1 (Jan. 28).

Future‘s No. 5-peaking “Mask Off” holds at No. 6 on the Hot 100 and wins the top Streaming Gainer award for its 13 percent boost to 43.3 million U.S. streams. The track also jumps 25-15 on Digital Song Sales (34,000, up 9 percent). Aiding its momentum: a new remix featuring Lamar, released May 25.

Zedd and Alessia Cara‘s “Stay” is steady at its No. 7 Hot 100 peak, while topping Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for a third week, and The Chainsmokers and Coldplay‘s No. 3-peaking “Something Just Like This” remains at No. 8 on the Hot 100. The Chainsmokers spend a 57th consecutive week in the Hot 100’s top 10, a streak second only to Katy Perry’s record 69-week run in 2010-11. Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” is likewise stationary on the Hot 100, at No. 9 after reaching a No. 8 high.

Copy and paste: Nos. 1-9 on the Hot 100 stay in place from last week. The last time that at least the top nine was static? On the chart dated Aug. 24, 2013, the top 11 titles repeated their ranks, led by Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” featuring T.I. and Pharrell, at No. 1. (One act has been a participant in both weeks: Mars placed at No. 7 that week in 2013 with “Treasure.”)

Post Malone celebrates his first Hot 100 top 10, as “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo, rises 13-10. The song bullets at No. 7 on Streaming Songs (30 million, up 3 percent); soars 24-12 on Digital Song Sales, up 13 percent to 37,000 sold, aided by a 69-cent sale price in the iTunes Store; and nears Radio Songs (19 million, up 5 percent). Malone previously peaked as high as No. 14 on the Hot 100 (among three previous visits) with his debut entry, “White Iverson,” in January 2016.

Both songs are from his debut album, Stoney, which debuted at its No. 6 peak in December and has spent its first 25 weeks in the chart’s top 25 (ranking at No. 13 on the current June 17-dated chart). (Malone recently met former NBA star Allen Iverson, for whom his breakout hit is named. “I’m still tripping at how sick it was,” Malone told Billboard.)

Quavo, meanwhile, collects his third Hot 100 top 10 as a soloist, all in featured roles. He first reached the region on Drake’s “Portland” (also featuring Travis Scott), which peaked at No. 9 in April, before hitting the top 10 with “I’m the One” and “Congratulations.” Quavo first entered the tier as part of Migos, whose “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, spent three weeks at No. 1 in January and February.

Beyond the Hot 100’s top 10, three songs are new to the top 20: Childish Gambino‘s “Redbone” (22-17); French Montana‘s “Unforgettable,” featuring Swae Lee (23-18); and Ayo & Teo‘s “Rolex” (31-20).

Bryson Tiller Notches His First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘True to Self’

Plus: The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” returns to the top three, and Lil Yachty debuts in the top five.

Bryson Tiller notches his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as his second studio effort, True to Self, debuts atop the tally. The set, which was released through TrapSoul/RCA Records on May 26, earned 107,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 1, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 47,000 were in traditional album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new June 17, 2017-dated chart (where Tiller debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, June 6.

True to Self was released a month earlier than its expected June 23 street date, and is the follow-up to Tiller’s debut set, Trapsoul. The latter set peaked at No. 8 on the chart in January of 2016, and helped Tiller finish the year as Billboard’s top new artist. Trapsoul has earned 1.6 million equivalent album units, of which 441,000 are in traditional album sales.

True to Self was supported mostly by SEA units (57,000) and traditional album sales. The remainder of its bow came from TEA units (2,000).

Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. holds steady at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, with 84,000 units (down 14 percent).

The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band returns to the chart, re-entering at No. 3 with 75,000 units (up 2,062 percent) with 71,000 in traditional album sales (up 3,889 percent). It is the highest rank for the former No. 1 album since the Dec. 30, 1967-dated chart, when the set also placed at No. 3.

The album bounces back to the tally courtesy of its 50th anniversary reissue on May 26. The album was reissued in a variety of configurations, including some with a bevy of bonus tracks. It spent a total of 15 weeks atop the list back in 1967 — the most weeks at No. 1 for any of The Beatles’ 19 chart-topping albums.

Sgt. Pepper’s’ re-entry also grants The Beatles its highest rank on the chart in more than 16 years. The band has been absent from the top three since the March 10, 2001-dated list, when the greatest hits album 1 was No. 3. (The album had previously spent eight weeks at No. 1.)

Sgt. Pepper’s was last on the Billboard 200 dated Jan. 23, 2016. It notched its last week in the top 10 on the Feb. 3, 1968-dated tally.

Drake’s More Life is a non-mover at No. 4 on the new Billboard 200, with 50,000 units (down 13 percent).

Lil Yachty’s debut studio album, Teenage Emotions, arrives at No. 5 with 46,000 units (20,000 in traditional album sales; 24,000 in SEA and 2,000 in TEA). Lil Yachty previously charted a pair of mixtapes with Lil’ Boat (No. 106) and Summer Songs 2(No. 197), both of which peaked in 2016.

Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) stays steady at No. 6 with 40,000 units (down 8 percent), Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic is stationary at No. 7 with a little more than 38,000 units (down 2 percent), and Chris Stapleton’s From A Room: Volume 1 descends 5-8 with 38,000 units (down 25 percent).

The new Summer Latin Hits 2017 compilation bows at No. 9 with 37,000 units (22,000 in SEA; 15,000 in TEA and a negligible sum of traditional album sales). The set is largely driven by streams and sales of one red-hot song: Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” The tune has been No. 1 for three weeks on the Hot 100 chart.

Closing out the new top 10 is Harry Styles’ self-titled effort, which falls from No. 3 to No. 10 with 36,000 units (down 47 percent).
